CARDINAL LEVADA SAYS LCWR SISTERS CAN AVAIL OF THE SACRAMENT OF PENANCE- WHAT ABOUT THE EUCHARIST?

Can they receive the Eucharist at Mass without a public clarification. They need to rectify the scandal even if they have been for Confession.

Cardinal Levada said that the LCWR sisters have not been obedient.

They have denied teachings of the Creed, it is reported.

They have rejected Vatican Council II which says all need Catholic Faith and the baptism of water for salvation (AG 7). They have rejected the Catechism of the Catholic Church (N.845,846) which has the same message as AG 7 and the defined dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus which Pope Pius XII called an ‘infallible statement’.

They have brought politics into religion. They have protested in public against the Magisterium of the Church.Even after the meeting with the CDF they are not reconciled with the Church.

The LCWR have supported pro choice and homosexuality among its members.

Can they be allowed to receive the Eucharist without a public rectification of the scandal besides receiving absolution in the Confessional ?

If there are grave sins- and the Cardinal-Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith has already suggested the Sacrament of Penance for them- then the Sisters should not be going up to receive the Eucharist. They do not also qualify as Eucharistic Ministers for the present time.

Why does the CDF permit this sacrilegious reception of the Eucharist when this issue has not been settled ?

According to Veritatis Splendor of Pope John Paul, a mortal sin is a mortal sin and the outward action indicates the inner intention.

Religious communities should review their membership in the LCWR with the reference to the Eucharist.

To knowingly cooperate with the LWCR in their sacrilegious actions...The LCWR sisters are probably also Eucharistic Ministers and one has to go up to receive the Eucharist from them...- Lionel Andrades

The church is a broad umbrella, and it doesn't quickly exclude people, even people who disagree on one point or the other. That's not just a question of different views, but also different behavior. People may not act morally, and that's why we have the sacrament of penance as an access to the mercy of God.-Cardinal William Levada, Prefect, Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith,Vatican.

When the LCWR invites Curran, Hubbard and Schneiders they are saying the Catholic Church is not the one true Church (UR 3) and every one does not need faith and baptism for salvation (AG 7)
