Cardinal Timothy Dolan , the Archbishop of New York and the U.S bishops are funding a heretical new department at the Gregorian Pontifical University in Rome which contradicts Notifications of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith,Vatican and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) Doctrinal Committee.
The grant has been given for the Gregorian University's Theology of Religions Department .There is a special fellowship for inter religious dialogue.
Recently Cardinal Dolan visited a mosque in New York and prayed with the cleric according to the the theology of religions concept and not the USCCB Doctrinal Committee indicating Islam is not a path to salvation and Catholic Mission is needed to Muslims in general.
Similar to the Gregorian University, there have been fellowships in ecumenism and inter religious dialogue, offered by non Catholic organisations, which have been accepted by the Jesuits at the Gregorian University. At the Angelicum, the University of St.Thomas Aquinas in Rome there is one such fellowship in ecumenism named after Pope John Paul II and the Director is a liberal Rabbi. He teaches Catholic students at this Dominican university. At the Gregorian University leftist and communist speakers have been invited over the last few years.
No one is saying saying that Vatican Council II suggests all Muslims and Jews need 'faith and baptism' for salvation.Also there are no known exceptions mentioned in AG 7, LG14 and other texts of Vatican Council II to all needing faith and baptism for salvation.This is also the message of the Catechism of the Catholic Church 846.
It is based on a Cushing interpretation of the Council, instead of Feeneyism, that Pope Francis is to conduct the familiar, Jesuit inter religious dialogue which is a compromise of the Catholic faith.This is how the Jesuits understand Vatican Council II.
Cardinal Timothy Dolan has said that he will not fund abortion and contraception but he is financing instituional heresy at the Gregorian University with the patronage of Pope Francis.
So if mission is to be conducted in the Archdiocese of New York it would be done knowing that other religions are equal paths to salvation as the Catholic Church,and, as if Cardinal Dolan could name some non Catholic who did not have to convert into the Catholic Church to be saved from Hell-Lionel Andrades
The Notification issued by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Vatican with reference to Fr.Jacques Dupuis S.J opposed the theology of religions.Like wise the USCCB Doctrinal Committe issued a Notification on a book written by Fr.Peter C.Phan which called for mission and preaching of the Gospel.it indicated that other religions are not paths to salvation.
