He assumed being saved in invincible ignorance (LG 16) was an exception to the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus. For him it was a rejection of Feeneyism and the old ecclesiology. This remains the position of Fr. Leonard Feeney's communities in New Hampshire, Diocese of Manchester and at Still River, M.A in the diocese of Worcester, USA.
Both communities, Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, consider LG 16  an exception to extra ecclesiam nulla salus. So for them Vatican Council II is not Feeneyite, the ecclesiology has been changed. The Council is ambigous.
So like Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre, the founder of the Society of St. Pius X, they rejected Vatican Council II since it contradicted the dogma on salvation , the Syllabus of Errors etc.
Nor did Brother Francis comment on the excommunication of Archbishop Lefebvre. So he was not aware that there were two options in the interpretation of Vatican Council II, one rational and the other irrational and the Magisterium was using the irrational version. At the centre of the two interpretations was extra ecclesiam nulla salus.
Immagine correlataBoth, Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger and Archbishop Lefebvre, assumed LG 16 was explicit and so an exception to Tradition( the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus, the Syllabus of Errors ).So Archbishop Lefebvre rejected Vatican Council II and Pope John Paul II excommunicated him.
They all did not know that LG 16, LG 8, UR 3, NA 2 etc was implicit, invisible and theoretical for us and so Vatican Council II was not a break with Tradition and the old ecclesiology. They all made a mistake.
Brother Francis and the St. Benedict Centres made the same mistake. They supported the Magisterial Heresy.1
Until today the Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary are not willing to answer two simple questions which show that LG 16 is not explicit and there are no known exceptions to the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus in Vatican Council. It would mean they would have to review their long held position on Vatican Council II.
According to the website Catholicism.org 2 in 1949, Dr.(Francis)  Maluf and two other professors at Boston College were dismissed from the faculty after charging the College, in a letter to Pope Pius XII and the Superior General of the Jesuit Order, with promoting the liberal doctrine of salvation outside the Church. That same year, Dr. Maluf became one of the pioneer members of Father Feeney’s religious Order, the Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, eventually taking the vows of religion and the name Brother Francis, after Saint Francis Xavier.
Since that time, Brother Francis continued to teach Sacred Scripture, philosophy, theology, science and mathematics at various levels. For many years he was the Superior of the Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary monastery in Richmond, New Hampshire.
