Such is daily life for non-Muslims in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

“Pakistani Muslim mob demands death for Christian boy who ‘insulted Islam,'” by Lorraine Caballero, Christian Daily, October 19, 2016:
Nabeel Masih, 16, has been accused of blasphemy and is now facing the death penalty after he allegedly posted on Facebook a photo of the Kaaba with a pig’s head on top, an image that local Muslims claimed was “insulting and sacrilegious.” When he faced the court this week, around 80 Muslims confronted the Christian teen and called for him to be hanged, the Express details.
Aside from that, Masih’s lawyers were also threatened by the Muslim mob. Aneeqa Maria, one of his legal representatives, claims that the prosecution threatened their team for taking on Masih’s case.
“The prosecution lawyer said ‘Do you have any idea in what cases are you appearing as a counsel, it’s a blasphemy case and this man has blasphemed against Islam and you should know that Pakistan is an Islamic state, we are all Muslims, and these are Muslim courts so you should not defend such a criminal,” said Maria. ‘You people come from Lahore to pursue this case here we have unlimited people whom you cannot face, so you better watch yourself and stay away.'”
Because of the commotion, the hearing has been postponed until a yet undetermined date. Masih, on the other hand, will remain in jail. His family has fled their home because of the threats against them.
British Pakistani Christian Association (BPCA) chairman Wilson Chowdhry had earlier denounced Pakistan’s blasphemy laws in light of the case of Masih and other Christians being targeted by similar accusations. For him, the incident highlights the “worthlessness” of believers in the South Asian country.
Chowdhry also decried the imprisonment of the Christian teen without a proper investigation. Citing the case of Nadeem James who was accused of blasphemy after a certain poem was planted on a chat app, the BPCA chairman said he would not be surprised if haters had merely tagged Nabeel in the image he allegedly posted.
