On salvation the Catholic Church in Vatican Council II says you are either in or out, it's black or white : The Council supports Fr. Leonard Feeney at Lumen Gentium 14

It is black or white. You are either in or out. This is my understanding of Lumen Gentium 14 which the liberals wrongly cite as a rupture with Tradition. It is not.
For Bishop Robert Barron salvation is no more 'your in or out'.It cannot be 'black and white' for him. Since he assumes we humans can detect exceptions to extra ecclesiam nulla salus(EENS).He assumes that 'we can know who knows or does not know' about Jesus and the Church and is saved or will be saved. He assumes that we humans can know who are the exceptions when this knowledge is there only with God.So there are exceptions for him. He is a Cushingite. There is only EENS and Vatican Council II,Cushingite for him.
For me, we do not know personally any of the exceptions mentioned in Lumen Gentium 14(LG 14).So it still is 'you are either in or out'. All need faith and baptism for salvation and the hypothetical cases of invincible ignorance(I.I) indicated in LG 14 are not exceptions.
All need to be members of the Church for salvation and the invisible- for- us references in LG 14, LG 8, LG 16, UR 3, NA 2, GS 22 etc are not exceptions to the centuries old interpretation of the dogma EENS.My approach is Feeneyite.
So when the Church Fathers mentioned the baptism of desire(BOD), baptism of blood(BOB) and invincible ignorance(I.I)  these were not exceptions to EENS. They were not exceptions to all needing to enter the Catholic Church as members ( Catate Dominio, Council of Florence 1441).
When Quanta Cura, Mystici Corporis and the Catechisms of the Council of Trent and   Pope Pius X mention BOD, BOB and I.I they refer to invisible and hypothetical cases and so they are not exceptions to EENS and all needing to be in or out.
When Lumen Gentium 14 mentions 'those who know and those who do not know',  who are saved or are not saved, these are not references to exceptions for me.My approach is Feeneyite. They are exceptions for Bishop Barron, the two popes and the CDF Prefects. They are Cushingites.
For me hypothetical cases cannot be exceptions to all needing to enter the Church as through a door, for salvation, in for example, 2018.The Church is like the Ark of Noah in which all need to enter with the baptism of water and faith, to be saved from the Flood( CCC 845).One cannot choose to enter with BOD, BOB and I.I.
So Vatican Council II is in harmony with EENS( Feeneyite) and the exclusivist ecclesiology of the Church.
So you may say this or that about Fr. Leonard Feeney but BOD, BOB and I.I never ever were exceptions or relevant to his traditional interpretation of the dogma EENS.
He may have been excommunicated but Vatican Council II supports him.
He may have been suspended a divinis but Vatican Council II supports him in his interpretation of EENS.
You may interpret his book, The Bread of Life, in 'this way or that' but the bottom line still is that Vatican Council II is orthodoxy  when it is in harmony with the Syllabus of Errors and the old Theology of the Church - which was Feeneyite and not Cushingite.-Lionel Andrades
