That is, it is not the progressive left that is making the argument against Cardinal Cushing’s statement, it is those who would claim to be traditional Catholics. They are essentially saying that the SSPX is “not Catholic enough".
Lionel: For the SSPX and the liberals invisible for us BOD, BOB and I.I are exceptions to the dogma EENS. So there is visible for them BOD, BOB and I.I.This is irrational, non traditional and heretical.It is not Catholic.It is an innovation which has come into the Church.Archbishop Lefebvre accepted this error. So has the liberal magisterium.

Modernism is a heresy that attacked the Church from within. And, as we know, the progressives who advanced the teachings of Modernism (and ultimately Vatican II) were the Catholics from within the Church.
Lionel: For the SSPX invisible for us cases of LG 16, LG 8, UR 3, NA 2, AG 11, AG 7, UR 3, GS 22 are visible exceptions to the dogma EENS. It is rupture with the magisterium of the 16th century. This is normal for you?

The SSPX does not claim to be "the" Catholic Church, they claim to be “Catholic”.
Lionel: It is Catholic to assume invisible people are visible exceptions to the dogma EENS as it was known to the missionaries in the 16th century?

They see their mission as “preserving” the faith until Rome wakes up to the the great error that was adopted during and after the Second Vatican Council. They follow the teachings of the Church––which include recognizing the pope as the Vicar of Christ.
Lionel: The two popes are Cushingites like the SSPX. So first of all, all of them have to identify the problem before Rome can come back to the Faith.

So while the commenters on this site suggest that the SSPX must adopt Feeneyism, they are essentially saying that they must ascribe to a teaching that was rejected by the Catholic Church long before Vatican II was even imagined.
Lionel: Feeneyism ( invisible people are not visible exceptions to the dogma EENS) was rejected by the Letter of the Holy Office 1949 which the SSPX and the popes have accepted.

The fact that Vatican II accepted that teaching should not lead anyone to believe that it was not a Catholic teaching. the Council accepted many Catholic teachings––they just adopted many false teachings as well.
Lionel: Cushingism is an irrational, non traditional and heretical philosophy and theology. Even a school boy would know that we cannot see people in Heaven and they cannot be exceptions to the dogma EENS on earth.

Fr. Leonard Feeney advanced what he believed, ins mind, to be the “true” meaning of Extra Ecclesiam Nulla Salus.
Lionel: He was not saying anything new.We now know that invisible for us BOD, BOB and I.I never were exceptions to the traditional interpretation of the dogma EENS, in the past or present.

But this was his “opinion”, and that opinion was rejected by the Church.
Lionel: 'The Church's' opinion in 1949 was that invisible for us BOD, BOB and I.I were visible exceptions to the dogma EENS.
Possibilities in the past were concrete exceptions in the present for 'the Church'.
This is the Church's position today and also that of the SSPX and the sedevacantists who have had their religious formation under Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre.

Indeed, he was excommunicated (although that excommunication was lifted on his deathbed) by Pope Pius XII.

The teaching he opposed had been affirmed by numerous popes before he decided that they were wrong.
Lionel: He affirmed the teachings of the popes and did not say they were wrong.It was the liberal theologians in the USA who interpreted the popes and catechisms' reference to BOD, BOB and I.I as referring to visible cases saved outside the Church.So they claimed that these references to BOD, BOB and I.I, being visible and known, were explicit exceptions to the Feeneyite interpretation of the dogma EENS.
'The Church' has accepted this irrationality and innovation and so has the SSPX.

It is also opposed by all faithful Catholics today––including the SSPX.
Lionel: The SSPX is Cushingite.For them non existing people in 2017 are existing exceptions to the dogma EENS and examples of salvation outside the Church.

Now the alleged traditional Catholic commenters on this site are criticizing the SSPX for not adopting this non-Catholic teaching.
Lionel: Invisible people are visible exceptions to EENS, this is Catholic philosophy and theology?

Quite frankly, I find it very difficult to distinguish the goal of all of these commenters from the “Modernists”.
Lionel: Cushingism is modernism.
If the two popes say that invisible cases of BOD are visible exceptions to the dogma EENS they contradict the Principle of Non Contradiction.
If the magisterium says an invisible person is also visible at the same time the magisterium, has made an objective error.

The only difference is that the Modernists (and Vatican II) attacked the Church from the left, while the “Neo-Feeneyites” are attacking the Church from the right.
Lionel: The Church was alread attacked with the 1949 Letter of the Holy Office which created a new theology and the traditionalists unknowingly accepted and still accept the error.People are in Heaven are objective exceptions on earth to the Feeneyite interpretation of the dogma EENS.
