When the Catechism of the Catholic Church (1257-The Necessity of Baptism ) states 'God is not limited to the Sacraments' this is heresy.Of course God chooses to limit salvation to the Sacraments according to the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus ( Council of Florence 1441) and the Athanasius Creed ( all need to be Catholic for salvation)

God is limited to the Sacraments according to the Catechism of Pope Pius X ( 24 Q,27Q).Theoretical and speculative cases of the baptism of desire, invincible ignorance etc are not practical exceptions.

God has chosen to limit salvation to Catholic faith and the baptism of water(Vatican Council II) and CCC 1257 says the Church knows of no means to eternal beatitude other that the baptism of water.-Lionel Andrades
