Aaron Seng is the President of Tradivox. In this Vimeo video he “refers
to the enduring faith of our Fathers” and he wants to ” learn and teach the faith handed
down from the Apostles”. For him this is the Catholic Faith 'as it was taught throughout
the centuries’.
I appreciate his efforts and reasoning. However it is not so
simply. For example, the Baltimore Catechism mentions the baptism of desire.
The baptism of desire is included in the Section on Baptism. Over the centuries
the baptism of desire referred to an invisible case on earth. This is common
knowledge. But for those bishops and cardinals today, who have endorsed the
Tradivox Catechisms, the baptism of desire refers to a visible and known person
in the present times (1965-2024).So the baptism of desire is a practical
exception for the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus. It is a practical exception for Cardinal Raymond Burke and Bishop Athanasius Schneider. But it is
an invisible case for me. It was an invisible case for those bishops who are
cited by Aaron Seng as ‘Historic Endorsements’.
So our conclusions our different. For me CCC 847-848
(invincible ignorance) will not contradict CCC 845-846 (outside the Church there
is no salvation). But for the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, Vatican,
and CCC 847-848 is a practical exception for CCC 845-846. The Catechism of the
Catholic Church does contradict itself and is irrational.
Similarly CCC 1257 (The Necessity of Baptism) states that the Church
knows of no means to eternal beatitude other than the baptism of water. But CCC
1257 seems to contradict itself when it says that ‘God is not limited to the
Sacraments’. So for Aaron Seng there would be exceptions. For me there are no
exceptions. Since only God can know who does not need the baptism of water for
salvation. For me this is a hypothetical case. For us humans, this is an
unknown an invisible person. So there really is no contradiction in CCC 1257.
Vatican Council II and the Catechism of the Catholic Church is not a break with Tradition for me as it is for cardinals and bishops in general who choose the false premise ( invisible people are visible).
- When what is invisible is confused as being visble I call it Cushingism. When what is invisible is confused as being visible I call it Feeneyism.
Cushingism is not the faith our fathers, it is not the faith which has come down to us from the Apostles. There cannot be a restoration with Cushingism.
When the Catechisms are interpreted rationally we return to the old theology which was Feeneyite. We return to the Catholic Faith of the Apostles, the Church Fathers and the Magisterium of the Middle Ages. -Lionel Andrades
