Re: Saint Benedict Center(in Still River,
Massachusetts)
Would somebody be able to say definitely whether or
not Saint Benedict Center in Still River accepts Baptism of Desire/Baptism of
Blood?
And do they believe that ALL non-Catholics will most definitely go to hell? Thank you!
(from Rasha Lampa's Extra Ecclesiam Nulla Salus Link List)
Lionel:
If they accepted or rejected the baptism of desire what difference does it make to our understanding of the dogma on salvation ?
The baptism of desire, with or without the baptism of water, is not relevant to the literal interpretation of the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus.
It is not an exception. Since there are no known cases. A posibility is not an exception.
If there are no known cases, how can it be an exception to the literal interpretation of the dogma by Fr.Leonard Feeney.
According to Vatican Council II (AG 7) all non Catholics need faith and baptism for salvation. The Catechism of the Catholic Church (845,846) says they all need to enter the Church 'as through a door'. They need to enter the Church visibly, with 'faith and baptism' (AG 7) to avoid Hell and go to Heaven.
