George Weigel and the U.S State Department interpret Vatican Council II with a false premise to create an artificial rupture with Catholic Tradition. They reject exclusive salvation in the Catholic Church, an ecumenism of return and the proclamation of the Social Reign of Christ the King in all laws and politics, even though this is the Conciliar teaching, when the Council is interpreted rationally.
Weigel is a Distinguished
Senior Fellow of the Ethics and Public Policy Center.
He interprets Vatican Council II with the familiar calculated confusion, which is 'the imposition of the progressive Catholic agenda
on the whole Church '.
The error can be corrected. Weigel could write a column or a new book on how Vatican Council II can be interpreted in harmony with Tradition indicating that non Catholics are on the way to Hell without 'faith and baptism'(Ad Gentes 7), which 'all' need for salvation ( to avoid Hell). There are no exceptions to Ad Gentes 7 mentioned in LG 9, LG 14, LG 16, UR 3, NA 2, GS 22 etc, in Vatican Council II.
The Council is Feeneyite with no exceptions to the 16th century extra ecclesiam nulla salus(EENS) of the Jesuit missionaries.
Weigel like the liberal theologians in the 1940's, confused what is subjective as objective, invisible as visible and then projected the result as a new Catholic doctrine on salvation, mission, ecumenism, the Catholic State etc.
Pope Benedict also interprets Vatican Council II unethically, like Weigel, and calls it ' a development of doctrine' .This deception based upon a falsehood would be accepted-theology for the Washington Ethics and Public Policy Center. The Jewish Left in the USA and the Chief Rabbinate of Israel would also want Vatican Council II to be interpreted like Weigel.
There is nothing in Dignitatis Humanae to contradict religious liberty in a Catholic State.
There is nothing in Lumen Gentium to contradict the past exclusivist ecclesiology of the Catholic Church.
There is nothing in Unitatis Redintigratio to contradict the traditional ecumenism of return.
So based upon the strict interpretation of the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus(AG 7, CCC 1257 etc) and Vatican Council II, the Social Reign of Christ the King in politics and law and the non separation of Church and State can be proclaimed,to save the majority of souls from going to Hell.
Vatican Council II indicates most people are on the way to Hell at the time of death, since they die without faith and the baptism of water, needed by all for salvation(AG 7).-Lionel Andrades
