The
traditionalists have an advantage with Vatican Council II. Things have changed
in the Church. It is the liberals who are in trouble. They can no more cite the
Council to support their liberalism in faith, morals, mission, ecclesiology
etc.
In
1965, Lumen Gentium 16 (being saved in invincible ignorance) referred to a physically
visible case but in 2024 it refers to an invisible person. So it is not an
objective exception for the past ecclesiocentrism and the rest of Tradition. It
is not a break with the ecclesiology of the Roman Missal. - Lionel Andrades
