Today
is the feast of St. Terese of Liseux, saint of the Missions, traditional
mission based upon their being exclusive salvation in Jesus and only the
Catholic Church.
Terese’s
traditional missionary concept, like that of the missions in the Middle Ages,
is supported and not contradicted by Vatican Council II and the Catechism of
the Catholic Church, when they are interpreted rationally and not irrationally. They did not confuse invisible cases of the baptism of desire and being saved in invincible ignorance as being physically visible examples of salvation outside the Catholic Church and so practical exceptions for the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus. This is the mistake of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, Vatican today. So it is not apostolic. - Lionel Andrades
