Catholic priests can offer the Novus Ordo Mass with
the same Missal used by the Society of St. Pius X (SSPX). The new Missal is
based upon Vatican Council II interpreted irrationally. They can also adapt the
Mass in the vernacular with rubrics which they think are there in the Latin
Mass but are missing in the Novus Ordo.
The Novus Ordo Mass is being offered in Latin for many
years here in Rome. I have attended them.
With Vatican Council II interpreted rationally the
ecclesiology of the Mass is the same for me, as the Mass in the 16th
century in Latin and in the first three centuries in Greek.
The Novus Ordo Mass can also be offered facing East
and the Eucharist can be given to communicants at the altar rail.
The priest can affirm the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla
salus (EENS) according to the Magisterium and missionaries of the 16th
century, in harmony with Vatican Council II ( AG 7/LG 14) and the Catechism of
the Catholic Church (845,846), the Catechism of Pope Pius X ( 24Q, 27Q), the
Fourth Lateran Council (1215), the Council of Florence, Cantate Domino ( 1442)
etc. They are not contradicted by hypothetical cases of LG 8, LG 14, LG 16, UR 3, NA 2,GS 22 etc in Vatican Council II.
The New Missal is inadequate since it is based upon
Vatican Council II interpreted irrationally.
So if there is an en-cultured Mass in India, like that
of Fr. Bede Griffiths and the Jesuits, the priest must interpret Vatican
Council II rationally and with the old versions of the Roman Missal. It is
unethical to choose an ecclesiology based upon Vatican Council II interpreted
deceptively.
It would be the same for a Mass at which Mayan or
Amazon symbols are chosen.- Lionel Andrades
