CARDINAL DIRECTS PRIESTS TO PROMOTE OTHER RELIGIONS
PANAJI, Goa (ChurchMilitant.com) - After a priest's sermon rebuking Catholics
for venerating Hindu gods and patronizing witchcraft went viral on social
media, the cardinal-archbishop of Goa in India is directing priests and
faithful to promote other religions.
Lionel: According to Vatican Council II (Ad Gentes 7) all need faith and baptism for salvation and so the Catechism of the Catholic Church says outside the Church there is no salvation(CCC846). Pope John Paul II went to India and read out Ecclesia di Eucharestia and appealed to all non Catholics to accept Jesus in the Catholic Church for salvation from Hell. Ecclesia di Eucarestia says that the Eucharist is to be given only to Catholics at Mass.Hindus are outside the Church.Pope John Paul II wanted all Hindus to enter the Catholic Church for salvation.
The cardinal-archbishop does not want to become a martyr.

Responding to Cdl. Filipe Neri
Ferrão's directive, Salesian nuns running the Auxilium School in Mapusa venerated
the idol of the elephant-headed Hindu god Ganesha "with a traditional lamp
lighting followed by a prayer service to invoke the blessings of Lord
Ganesha."
"According to the
teachings of the Church, Catholics are called to acknowledge, preserve and
promote the spiritual and moral truths found in the social life and culture of
other religious traditions," Cdl. Filipe Neri Ferrão announced in a press
statement.
Lionel: Yes.Non Catholics can use these truths to enter the Catholic Church and be saved from
Hell. But the Archdiocese of Goa is not proclaiming Ad Gentes 7, Lumen Gentium
14 and the Catechism of the Catholic Church (845,846,1257).The cardinal-archbishop is not preaching
the Gospel and proclaiming that there is exclusive salvation in only the
Catholic Church. This was the teaching of St. Francis Xavier and the Jesuit
missionaries who evangelized Goa. The teachings of St. Francis Xavier on exclusive
salvation, in only the Catholic Church, with no known exceptions, is
not contradicted by Vatican Council II. Since hypothetical cases, mentioned in
NA 2, GS 2, UR 3, etc are not practical exceptions for the dogma extra
ecclesiam nulla salus and Ad Gentes 7 ( all need faith and baptism for
salvation). There are no known cases in 1949-2023; no physically visible cases, of non Catholics saved with
the baptism of desire or in invincible ignorance.
________________
"It is distressing to
note that certain expressions used recently in public by some members of the
Catholic Church may have hurt the religious sentiments of people of other
religious traditions," Ferrão, who holds the title of "patriarch of
the east," stated.
Lionel: Cardinal Ferrao does not want
to hurt the sentiments of non Catholics and proclaim the Gospel in harmony with
Vatican Council II and the Bible. John 3:5 says all need faith and baptism for salvation and (Mark 16:16) says those who do not believe will be condemned. In the Gospel of (Matthew 7:13), Jesus says enter through the narrow gate for the road to Hell is wide
and most people take it. The Catholic Church, with its Sacraments and teachings
on faith, morals and mission, is the narrow gate, ‘the pearl of great prize’(Mattew 13:45-46).
The Church’s teaching on objective reality, Heaven and Hell, cannot be changed
by archbishops, cardinals and the pope.

Citing Vatican II
The cardinal, who sparked
controversy for encouraging his clergy to visit idols of Ganesha during the
festival of Ganesh Chaturthi last year, cited Vatican II's Nostra
Aetate to support his "appeal to respect each other's
religion."
Lionel: We must respect others
and try to live in peace as far as possible but when asked for an account of
one’s faith, the Catholic Faith must not be denied. In Goa they are not proclaiming the Catholic faith. There is a rupture with the ecclesiology of the Jesuit missionaries who went there and converted the people into the Catholic Church, to save their souls from the fires of Hell.
________________
Cardinal Ferrão, who faced
severe criticism from Goa's laity for downgrading Jesus and promoting a
"masonic relativism" by endorsing clergy visits to Hindu idols, also
quoted Pope Francis' human fraternity concordat with the grand imam of
al-Azhar, Ahmed el-Tayeb.
Lionel: Pope Francis like Cardinal Ferrao is interpreting Vatican Council II irrationally to produce a fake break with the dogma EENS and the Athanasius Creed which says all need to be members of the Catholic Church for salvation. The scholars at Al Azhar University are not aware of this.
DISHONEST INTER-RELIGIOUS DIALOGUE
It is dishonest to have
inter-religious dialogue with Vatican Council II interpreted irrationally and
not rationally. For the Archdiocese of Goa, LG 8, LG 14, LG 16, UR 3, NA 2, GS
22 etc in Vatican Council II, would refer to visible non Catholics saved outside the Church without faith
and the baptism of water. For me they refer to hypothetical and physically
invisible cases only. If any one was saved as such it would only be known to
God.
For the Archdiocese of Goa, LG
8, LG 14, LG 15, LG 16 etc are visible exceptions for the dogma EENS and the
Athanasius Creed. For me they refer to invisible cases in 2023 and so they
cannot be exceptions for the past exclusivist ecclesiology of the Church.
So Vatican Council II is a
break with the dogma EENS and the rest of Tradition for the Archdiocese of Goa
and Pope Francis, but not for me. Vatican Council II for me is in harmony with
the ecclesiology of St. Francis Xavier and the missionaries and Magisterium of
the 16th century.
________________
"In this regard, we
deeply regret that certain recent pronouncements made by some members of the
Church have gone against the authentic spirit of interreligious dialogue and
reciprocal respect," the cardinal noted.
Lionel: It is not Catholic to
interpret Vatican Council II irrationally and so not proclaim the Gospel on
their being exclusive salvation in the Catholic Church. This is contrary to the
teachings of the popes and saints over the centuries.
_________________
"We wish to assure that
the Church leadership has taken appropriate action with regard to them and has
also sternly warned them to avoid such utterances in the future," he
stressed.
Lionel : The cardinal must know that if he does not affirm the dogma EENS and the Nicene Creed in its original interpretation then this is an impediment to offering Holy Mass.He has changed the understanding of the Creeds and other Magisterial Documents by interpreting Vatican Council II, irrationally. According to Canon Law a bishop and cardinal is expected to be Catholic and to affirm the teachings of the Catholic Church.
