The immediate future of the Catholic Church is traditional since Vatican Council II can only be interpreted rationally and so traditionally

Under these orthodox conditions neither is Pope Francis, Cardinal Fernandez and Archbishop Vigano in schism. It is a win-win situation for all.

Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano, before his  excommunication is announced, must make it known on his blog that there is a rational interpretation of Vatican Council II, which every Catholic must affirm. So when he, Pope Francis and Cardinal Fernandez and all Catholics affirm the rational interpretation of Vatican Council II, explained on this blog, Eucharist and Mission (Lionel’s blog) they all return to Tradition. There is no liberal-traditionalist division any more.

So there is also no more the need to go into sedevacantism, since the Council and the pope become traditional. They do not contradict the past ecclesiocentrism of the Catholic Church. In this new scenario Archbishop Vigano does not reject the Council and neither Pope Francis, as the pope.

The responsibility now lies with Pope Francis and Cardinal Fernandez to affirm Vatican Council II. Morally the Council can only be interpreted rationally i.e LG 8, 14, 15, 16, UR 3, NA 2, Gs 22 etc refer to hypothetical cases, only.

  • This is a new discovery in the Catholic Church, which was not known in 1965.

Now Cardinal Fernandez. Msgr. Kennedy  and Archbishop Augustine di Noia at the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, Vatican, and all the cardinals and bishops in general,  simply have to interpret Vatican Council II rationally and Cardinal Fernandez and Archbishop Vigano are on the same side.

In spite of what was said or done at Vatican Council II (1965), or who held whatever belief later, conservative or liberal – when the Council today is interpreted rationally the conclusion is traditional. There is no rupture with the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus (EENS), the Athanasius Creed and the Syllabus of Errors.

I repeat - when Vatican Council II is interpreted rationally the conclusion is traditional.

When any one interprets the Council rationally the conclusion is traditional.

Under these orthodox conditions neither is Pope Francis, Cardinal Fernandez and Archbishop Vigano in schism. It is a win-win situation for all.

There is a new discovery. If Cardinal Fernandez and Archbishop Vigano interpret Vatican Council II rationally they both are traditional. There is no need for excommunication or sedevacantism
