Stop looking at schism in the traditional sense, since the DDF does not do this. For the DDF, not accepting liberalism is schism. The liberalism comes only with Vatican Council II, irrational. So to be in communion with Pope Francis you have to be a liberal who interprets the Council only irrationally. You have to be dishonest.

When you interpret the Council dishonestly, you no more are in communion with the popes over the centuries. They were rational when they interpreted the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus, the Athanasius Creed and the Syllabus of Errors. They did not want a break with Tradition.
