It is now understood by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith(CDF) that possibilities of salvation are not real people in 2018.Possibilities of non Catholics being saved outside the Catholic Church are not real people known to us.They can only be known to God if they exist.
So Lumen Gentium 8 ( elements of sanctification and truth)is an unknown case.It refers to an unknown person.
Cardinal Luiz Ladaria s.j. Prefect of the CDF made a mistake on March 1,2018 at the Press Conference for Placuit Deo( see video) when he said LG 8 was an exception to the old exclusivist ecclesiology of the Church, the traditional interpretation of extra ecclesiam nulla salus(EENS).
There is no denial from the CDF.
Since it is obvious that there are no known cases of non Catholics saved with elements of sanctification and truth(LG 8).
Similarly there are no known non Catholics or non Christians saved outside the Catholic Church where it is allegedly believed that the true Church of Christ subsists(LG 8).
It was false for Cardinal Ladaria to mention LG 8( subsist it in ) when asked by an AP journalist, if the Church still teaches that it has the superiority and exclusiveness in salvation. In his vague style he said that the Church today no more speaks in terms of superiority and cited Lumen Gentium 8.
There are so many reports on line which state that LG 8 refers to theoretical and speculative cases only.So it is not an exception to EENS.
There is no comment from the CDF.
