Ignatius Press which accepts the new false ecclesiology of Pope Benedict, based upon an irrational interpretation of Vatican Council II has produced another one of its politically correct books on salvation.
They have published Pope Benedict's understanding of the New Ecclesiology based upon there being alleged known salvation outside the Church. So the traditional ecclesiology of the Catholic Church being the only Ark of Noah that saves in the Flood has been put away.
We now know that the liberal reading of Vatican Council II is obsolete. But this has still not registered at EWTN which promotes the new book:

Salvation: What It Is and What It Isn’t
BOOK PICK: Salvation: What Every Catholic Should Know
SALVATION: WHAT EVERY CATHOLIC SHOULD KNOW
By Michael Patrick Barber
Ignatius Press, 2019
On EWTN none of the apologists are allowed to say that invisible cases of the baptism of desire, baptism of blood and invincible ignorance cannot be visible exceptions to Feeneyite extra ecclesiam nulla salus.
They are also not allowed to say that invisible cases of LG 8, LG 14, LG 16, UR 3, NA2, GS 22 etc are not physically visible examples of salvation outside the Church. So there is nothing in Vatican Council II to contradict 16th century EENS, the past exclusivist ecclesiology and an ecumenism of return.
EWTN and Ignatius Press are censored so nothing much can be expected from them when they produce another book on salvation in line with the new ecclesiology.
When Catholic Answers held their annual conference last year, they clarified that they were Christological in their apologetics. They did not say, and it was understood, that they did not support an exclusivist understanding of salvation.
Since for the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, the Letter of the Holy Office 1949(LOHO) referenced in Vatican Council II and placed in the Denzinger was correct and Fr. Leonard Feeney and the St. Benedict Center were wrong.
But now we know, that whatever is one's opinion on Fr. Leonard Feeney, Lumen Gentium 8 and Lumen Gentium 16 always refer to an invisible case. Always-past,present and future.
So there is no change in the Catholic Church's understanding of salvation after LOHO and Vatican Council II. The Council is Feeneyite with Ad Gentes 7( all need faith and baptism for salvation) and LG 8 etc are not practical exceptions to Ad Gentes 7. This is a point missed out by the books on salvation from Ignatius Press, EWTN and Catholic Answers.-Lionel Andrades
