There is an objective mistake in the New Theology of Pope Benedict and Maike Hickson is unaware of it
Maike Hickson in her reports at Life Site News has not pointed out an important point - that Pope Benedict and Prof. Achim Buchanmaier use an irrational premise to interpret Vatican Council II and so a false rupture is created with extra ecclesiam nulla salus, the strict interpretation of St. Thomas Aquinas,St. Augustine , the popes and Church Fathers.
EVIDENCE 1
In two theological papers of the International Theological Commission, Christianity and the World Religions(1997) and The Hope of Salvation for Infants who die without Baptism (2007),1 Cardinal Ratzinger and Fr. Luiz Ladaria sj made a factual mistake.
They viewed Lumen Gentium 16 etc as being exceptions to the strict exclusivist interpretation of EENS. Maike Hickson does not refer to this error.Possibly she does not know about this.
EVIDENCE 2
Then in an interview with Avvenire, Pope Benedict further confirmed the error.2 He stated that EENS today was not the same as it was for the missionaries in the 16th century. There was 'a development' with Vatican Council II he said. He meant Vatican Council II was interpreted with LG 16 etc being exceptions to EENS.There was a hermeneutic of rupture for him.
EVIDENCE 3
The third proof of the error is the reference to The Letter of the Holy Office 1949(LOHO) in the ITC papers. Cardinal Ratzinger accepted the LOHO which was approved by Pope Pius XII. LOHO considered the baptism of desire and invincible ignorance as being exceptions to Feeneyite EENS.So LOHO says that not every one needs to be a member of the Catholic Church for salvation. This contradicts the Athanasius Creed, the Syllabus of Error etc, which state that there is exclusive salvation in the Catholic Church and every one needs to be a member for salvation.
LOHO considered invisible cases of the BOD and I.I as being visible exceptions to traditional EENS.3 This is irrational and heretical but it is the birth of the New Theology which Cardinal Ratzinger nurtured.
We now know that LOHO and Cardinal Ratzinger made an objective mistake. There are no known cases of being saved in BOD and I.I , without the Sacraments. If there were such cases it could only be known to God.So objectively for Cardinal Ratzinger there could be no BOD and I.I cases.
Similarly LG 8, LG 14, LG 16, UR 3, NA 2, GS 22 etc in Vatican Council II, do not refer to objective exceptions to EENS, for a discerning Catholic. So Vatican Council II interpreted rationally would not contradict the strict interpretation of EENS, according to the Jesuit missionaries in the Middle East or the past Magisterium of the Church Fathers.
But LG 16 is an exception to EENS for Pope Benedict and LG 8 is an exception to EENS for Cardinal Luiz Ladari( Placquet Deo Press Conference).4 They interpret LG 8 an LG 16 with a false premise.Unknown people are known, invisible people are visible, implicit and subjective cases are assumed to be explicit.
With the confusion between the speculative and practical they created the New Theology. It says outside the Church there is salvation.
This is also the New Theology of Achim Buchamauir, Cardinal Walter Kasper, Fr. Hans Kung and the German cardinals and bishops.
It is only with a false premise, with a New Theology, that ' doctrines develop' for Pope Benedict.
The false premise he uses is a factual error. It is a fact of life that we humans cannot see or meet any exception to the past exclusivist ecclesiology of the Catholic Church.
So the New Theology is a fake theology approved by Pope Paul VI, Cardinal Ottaviani and Archbishop Lefebvre, which Pope Benedict has been officially promoting.
EVIDENCE 4
There is an empirical and objective mistake in the New Theology of Pope Benedict. He violates the Principle of Non Contradiction and Newton's Laws of Physics.
For Pope Benedict a BOD and I.I case is known and visible on earth( to be an exception to EENS) and is also saved in Heaven at the same time.It is in two places.
In Newton's time , space and gravity, there are no 'solid state' human bodies saved without the Sacrament in 1965-2020.They do not not exist.Yet the ITC papers and Pope Benedict's interpretation of LOHO and Vatican Council II show that he considers BOD and I.I and LG 16 as being real and known in personal cases, for them to be exceptions to the strict interpretation of EENS.For him these are real cases and so this violates the Principle of Non Contradiction. If they were not real and visible people saved outside the Church for him, they could not be exceptions to EENS.This is a fundamental flaw in his philosophical reasoning .He confuses what is speculative as being practical and has carried the whole Church along with him, with this error, this infection.
The infection is there in the new books on Vatican Council II, articles on the New Ecclesiology and the New Ecumenism etc.

EVIDENCE 5
Prof. Achim Bukenmaier of the Catholic Integrated Community(Integrierte Gemeinde ), which was supported by Pope Benedict when he was the Archbishop of Munich,is still a member of the Ratzinger Foundation. He also teaches the Ratzinger Studies and Spirituality at the Regina Apostolorum University Rome. He also has an office and staff at the John Lateran University, Rome where he promotes the irrational and heretical New Theology of Pope Benedict.
This point, about Pope Benedict's false New Theology is not covered by Maike Hickson.
