Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, a traditional Roman Catholic church in Salem, New Hampshire, is serviced by the priests of the Congregation of Mary Immaculate Queen (CMRI), who offer only the traditional Latin Mass.

Fr. Robert Letourneau, is Resident Priest. He also ministers to traditional Catholics in Massachusetts, Maine and Rhode Island.

*The Rosary will be prayed one-half hour before Saturday and Sunday Masses.

Mass Stipends

Father is now able to accept Mass stipends. Please observe the following points regarding them:

  • The customary Mass stipend is $25. (Make checks out to OLMC Church).
  • Requests for a specific date will be honored, if possible, but must be submitted at least one month prior to the requested date.
  • Gregorian series of Masses are offered only for deceased parishioners.

 
* The Blessing of Religious Articles takes place at the Communion rail after each Mass. 

Confessions

Heard 45 minutes before each Mass. Note: Confessions begin at 8:45 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Salem, New Hampshire. Please arrive early enough if you wish to avail yourself of the Sacrament of Penance. Confessions will end ten minutes before Mass, in order that Father may begin Mass promptly.

Sunday Catechism for Children

Classes are currently conducted only at St. Theresa's Church in Oakland, Maine.  They are held once a month, starting 50 minutes before Mass; the dates are announced in the Sunday Bulletin.  We have two levels of ages, spanning 5 years old (if appropriate) to 17 years old.

Please help in the planning of these classes by notifying the Sisters of the names and ages of your children who will be attending.

Sacraments

Please call Father to make arrangements for the Sacraments of Baptism, Matrimony, and Extreme Unction.

Adult Doctrine Classes

Classes are conducted monthly in the social hall downstairs. All are invited to attend. We are currently covering various areas of Catholic teachings in connection with the A Tour of the Summa of St. Thomas Aquinas, and Scripture.
