Yesterday I was reading the Ecclesiology semester notes, given to a religious student, by the professor at the St.John Lateran University, Rome.The semester is over and the young foreign student has thrown the notes, in Italian, into the dust bin where I found them.
Boff,Kung, Balthasar are cited and various theoretical models of the Church are presented.The Chinese religious sister had to memorize all this minutiae.
This course in the Handbook is titled 10133-Ecclesiologia e Mariologia by Giovanni Tangorra.
The first line states that the principal subject of this course is the study of the Church, with the perspective of Vatican Council II along with the traditional understanding of the Church.
The Bibliogrpahy has books by Y Congar, Joseph Ratzinger, Bruno Forte, M. Semeraro and G.Tangorra.
I browsed through the 147 pages and it was obvious that the major flaw was the interpretation of Vatican Council II with Cushingism instead of Feeneyism.So the conclusion is a break with the ecclesiology of St.Robert Bellarmine, who is briefly mentioned in a vague way.
Since Cushingism is the theology, there is a new ecumenism which accepts salvation among other Christians.So they do not have to convert into the Church.
It may be mentioned that even Bishop Athanasius Schneider accepts this new theology and would not say that Protestants need to convert into the Catholic Church to avoid Hell( for salvation).He interprets Vatican Council II with Cushingism instead of Feeneyism.
Prof. Tangorra would not have been able to present this course in this way if Feeneyism was the philosophy and theology, as it was in the 16th century.
The ecclesiology of Giovanni Tangoora refers to a general Christian Church and not the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church is no more the Ark of Noah that saves in the flood.Protestants are no more outside the Church for him.
So salvation-doctrine has been changed.This was made possible by interpreting Vatican Council II with a false premise and inference.This was unknown in the Church over the centuries.
The Church Fathers and popes of the medieval ages referred to the baptism of desire(BOD), baptism of blood(BOB) and being saved in invincible ignorance(I.I) but did not interpret them as referring to personally known and objective people. These were not objective cases of non Catholics saved outside the Church. They were not visible people saved without 'faith and baptism'(AG 7, LG 14). For them over the centuries they were obviously hypothetical cases. BOD,BOB and I.I could only be speculative cases in the present times.There is no choice.
But for the Cushingites-Conger, Boff, Balthasar, Kung, Ratzinger, Semeraro and Tangoora, invisible people were visible. Unknown people were practical exceptions to the old ecclesiology of the Church Fathers and the popes. So a new ecclesiology, a new understanding of Church has been created. It is ecumenical. It is for Christians and not only about Catholics.This is a new religion with new doctrines.-Lionel Andrades

Don't buy any new book on Vatican Council II.Know that the author is intepreting Vatican Council II with the false premise.Lumen Gentium 16 is not an exception to EENS, the Syllabus and Athanasius Creed. -Lionel Andrades
