Brazilian Sister sent back home for offending Koranic teachings
Sister Eli Benatti a religious sister of the community Nostra Signora di
Lourdes, Via Sistina Rome, has been forced to return to Brazil, after
objections to her presence by Muslim activists including Muslim police here.
Sister Eli affirms Vatican Council II and the Catechism of the Catholic Church and tried to maintain good relations with all people here. She was disappointed when her community sent her back to Brazil.She had recently returned from her annual visit home and had renewed her sojjorno for an extended stay for two years. She had expressed her disappointment in telephone calls to many people after she learnt of the decision.Another Brazilian sister was transferred to France where the mother house of the community is located.
Sister Eli would try to keep peace among all people and would call for tolerance of each other’s religious views.She had to especially call for tolerance for Catholic religious beliefs which were under attack by Muslims in Rome.Since these Catholic teachings are in conflict with Koranic beliefs which Muslims feel obliged to uphold in Italy.

Eli lived and worked is in central Rome between Piazza Spagna and the Barberini
metro station. Many of the buildings in the area have been bought by non
Christians and the occupants also have family roots in Asia etc.
They were allowed to be sold to non Christians by the leftist national
government in Italy and the leftist Rome municipality.
The hostel managed by the Sisters, which has a chapel and regular Mass, was open for all. Like the nearby Augustinian Recollect church, at San Ildefonso and Tomasso
Villanova, the community affirm Vatican Council II.The Council says all need faith and the baptism
of water for salvation(Ad Gentes 7). It is known that practically there can be no known exceptions for the
baptism of desire or being saved in invincible ignorance. So there are no
objective exceptions for Ad Gentes 7 mentioned in Vatican Council II. The Catechism
also says all need to be united in the Catholic Church which is like the Ark of
Noah that saves in the flood (845). Ad Gentes 7 is cited in the Catechism under
the title Outside the Church there is no salvation (846).
It may be mentioned that when a young Brazilian female community of lay
members, managed the nearby church of San Giuseppe a Capo le Case, there were
threats from Muslim groups. The church was once closed for an entire week.
Sr. Eli’s return is a disappointment since she was a liberal like Pope
Francis and welcomed inter-religious dialogue and worked with the youth. She attended Mass in Italian and also Portughese.
Her community in France needs to affirm
the Catholic faith and allow her to return

Suora brasiliana rimandata a casa per aver
offeso gli insegnamenti coranici
Suor Eli Benatti, religiosa della comunità
Nostra Signora di Lourdes, Via Sistina Roma, è stata costretta a tornare in
Brasile, dopo le obiezioni alla sua presenza da parte di attivisti musulmani,
tra cui la polizia musulmana.
Suor Eli afferma il Concilio Vaticano II e il Catechismo della Chiesa Cattolica e ha cercato di mantenere buoni rapporti con tutte le persone qui. Rimase delusa quando la sua comunità la rimandò in Brasile. Era appena tornata dalla sua visita annuale a casa in Brasile e aveva rinnovato il suo soggiorno per due anni. Aveva espresso il suo disappunto telefonando a molte persone dopo aver appreso della decisione. Un'altra suora brasiliana è stata trasferita in Francia, dove si trova la casa madre della comunità.
Suor Eli avrebbe cercato di mantenere la pace tra tutte le persone e avrebbe chiesto la tolleranza delle reciproche opinioni religiose. Doveva chiedere in particolare la tolleranza per le credenze religiose Cattoliche che erano sotto attacco da parte dei musulmani a Roma. Poiché questi insegnamenti Cattolici sono in conflitto con il Corano che i musulmani si sentono obbligati a sostenere in Italia.
L'Istituto Immacolata Concezione di Nostra Signora di Lourdes dove visse e lavorò suor Eli si trova nel centro di Roma tra piazza Spagna e la fermata metro Barberini. Molti degli edifici della zona sono stati acquistati da non cristiani e anche gli occupanti hanno radici familiari in Asia ecc.
Sono stati autorizzati a essere venduti a non cristiani dal governo nazionale di sinistra in Italia e dal comune di Roma di sinistra.
L'ostello gestito dalle suore, che ha una cappella e una Messa regolare, è stato aperto a tutti. Come la vicina chiesa degli Agostiniani Recolletti, a San Ildefonso e Tomasso Villanova, la comunità afferma il Concilio Vaticano II.
Il Concilio dice che tutti hanno bisogno della fede e del battesimo dell'acqua per la salvezza (Ad Gentes 7). È noto che praticamente non ci possono essere eccezioni conosciute per il battesimo del desiderio o per essere salvati nell'ignoranza invincibile. Quindi non ci sono eccezioni oggettive per Ad Gentes 7 menzionate nel Concilio Vaticano II.
Il Catechismo dice anche che tutti devono essere uniti nella Chiesa Cattolica che è come l'Arca di Noè che salva nel diluvio (845). Ad Gentes 7 è citato nel Catechismo con il titolo Fuori della Chiesa non c'è salvezza (846).
Si può ricordare che quando una giovane comunità femminile brasiliana di membri laici, gestiva la vicina chiesa di San Giuseppe a Capo le Case, vi furono minacce da parte di gruppi musulmani. La chiesa una volta rimase chiusa per un'intera settimana.
Il ritorno di suor Eli è una delusione poiché era una liberale come papa Francesco e accoglieva il dialogo interreligioso e lavorava con i giovani. Ha assistito alla messa in italiano e anche in portoghese.
La sua comunità in Francia ha bisogno di
affermarsi la Fede Cattolica e permetterle di tornare a Roma.-Lionel Andrades
