The Franciscans all over the world still interpret Vatican Council II as a rupture with the Syllabus of Errors and the Athanasius Creed when there really is no rupture but a continuity with Tradition.It is the same with the Jesuits and Dominicans.
When Pope Francis referred to Vatican Counci II in Querida Amazonia ("Beloved Amazon"),he had in mind a Vatican Council II which was a rupture with 16th century extra ecclesiam nulla salus(EENS) and not a continuity,not a support. So Pope Francis cannot really recommend a pagan artificat to be placed on the altar in the name of Vatican Council II. Since he is referring to Vatican Council II interpreted with ,and not without , a false premise, inference and conclusion.This is deception. It is unethical. It is a lie and yet this is the interpretation of Vatican Council II by the Franciscans, Dominicans and Jesuits.They are now are going to continue with this all over the world until the abomination of desolation makes its appearance on the altar at Mass.It could even be placed in the tabernacle with the Eucharist, by a married priest of the Amazon Rite, like they have married priests in the Anglican Ordinariate approved by Pope Benedict.
This could be the future in Italy where the Eucharist at Mass is given to everyone.This was confirmed by Bishop Marcelo Sanchez Sorondo,the other day and none of the present two popes objected.
Cardinal Sarah, who interprets Vatican Council II in the old way is working on the new rite for the Amazon, where the shaman could also be a woman the Amazon Synod demonstrated.
When Pope Francis chooses not to interpret Vatican Council II in his old way, and chooses the rational version, he will be saying all the non Catholics in the Amazon are going to fires of Hell, when they die without 'faith and baptism(AG 7), along with their pagan beliefs.
But will Pope Francis interpret Vatican Council II rationally when it has a 'troumphalistic ' conclusion ?
The popes, cardinals and bishops cannot continue to interpret Vatican Council II with the irrational premise, inference and conclusion to create a rupture with the ecclesiology of the Middle Ages, including that of the Amazon, when the missionaries first went there.
It is only over the last 55 years since Vatican Council II and 81 years since the Letter of the Holy Office 1949 to the Archbishop of Boston that the false premise, inference and conclusion is being used and it can be avoided.The average Catholic can choose to interpret Vatican Council II without the false premise, inference and conclusion and put down the Letter (1949) as an objective mistake of the liberals.
Then we are back to the old ecclesiology of St. Francis of Assisi, St.Bonaventure, St. Dominic, St. Catherine of Siena, St. Ignatius of Loyola, St. Francis Xavier, St. Robert Bellarmine ....
We can read books on thier sprituality and it would be relevant for the post Vatican Council II Church, which interprets the Council rationally.So we could still have S. Teresa of Avila's ecumenism of return for the Lutherans, St. Francis Xavier's outside the church there is no salvation and all non Catholics in general are on the way to Hell and not only those who know about Jesus and the Church and - St. John of the Cross' Ascent of Mt. Carmel towards mystical union with God, in our life time.
The priority would be as it was known to the popes over the centuries- the proclamation of the Social Reign of Christ the King in all politics and the non separation of Church and State.
This is all possible with a rational interpretation of Vatican Council II, the Creeds and Catechisms and the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus, with the baptism of desire, baptism of blood and invincible ignorance being hypothetical cases only and so not practical exceptions to the traditional teaching on exclusive salvation in the Catholic Church.All this has been put aside by Pope Francis and his Synods.
The popes can choose, if they wanted, to go back to the old ecclesiology of St. Francis of Assisi, St. Bonaventure, St. Dominic, St. Catherine of Siena, St. Ignatius of Loyola, St. Francis Xavier, St. Robert Bellarmine....
