Bishop Athanasius Schneider interpreted Vatican Council II irrationally throughout the interview with Steve Bannon this month. It was a waste of time. He did not interpret the Council rationally, in harmony with Tradition. Bannon does not know that the Council can be interpreted traditionally once the Rational Premise is chosen.
THERE ARE NO LITERAL CASES OF THE BAPTISM OF DESIRE
This was an opportunity for Bishop Schneider to affirm exclusive
salvation in Jesus and only in the Catholic Church as he did recently at Khazakistan.
It was possible since he believes that there are no literal cases of the
baptism of desire (LG 14) in the present times. So with LG 8,14,16, UR 3, GS
22, NA 2 etc. in Vatican Council II being only hypothetical and invisible in
2022 there are no practical exceptions in the Council-text for the strict
interpretation of the dogma extra ecclesiam
nulla salus. So at Kazakhstan he could affirm the traditional
ecclesiocentrism of the Catholic Church.Vatican Council II interpreted rationally was in harmony with Tradition for him. He did not have to reject the Council(R).
Pope Benedict would not affirm traditional ecclesiocentrism and would not say that all need to enter only the Catholic Church for salvation. Since he would interpret Vatican Council II with the Irrational Premise. Invisible cases of LG 8, LG 14, LG 16, and UR 3, GS 22 etc. would be seen, by him, as being visible examples of salvation outside the Church. So they would be practical exceptions for Feeneyite EENS. So the dogma EENS and the Athanasius Creed was obsolete for him. He would use the False Premise (invisible people are visible) and then say that there was ‘a development of doctrine’ with Vatican Council II.
So the Council was always interpreted as a break with Feeneyite EENS, for him.
But now we know that the Council per se is not the cause of division but it was the Irrational Premise which Pope Benedict chose.
A German bishop the other day called this right wing extremism but this has been the Catholic faith for centuries and it is not contradicted with Vatican Council II interpreted rationally with the Rational Premise ( invisible cases are just invisible).-Lionel Andrades
