Sister Catherine Joseph Droste o.p., is the Dean of Theology at the University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum) Rome.I have 10 simple questions for her and the faculty.
1.Does being saved with the baptism of desire(BOD), baptism of blood(BOB) and in invincible ignorance(I.I) refer to physically visible people in 2019?
2.Does it refer to physically visible non Catholics over the last 100 years?
3.Do they refer to hypothetical cases ?
4.Do they refer to personally known non Catholics saved outside the Church without the baptism of water?
5.LG 8, LG 14, LG 16, UR 3, NA 2, GS 22 etc(in any passage) in Vatican Council II, refer to personally known individual cases , non Catholics saved outside the Church?
6. Or are they simply hypothetical and theoretical cases for us human beings?
7.Can we meet and see someone saved with elements of sanctification and truth in other religions(LG 8) or someone saved where the true Church of Christ allegedly subsists, outside the Church, where ever it is (LG 8) ?
8.Do we know the name and surname of someone saved in imperfect communion with the Church(UR 3) or with the 'seeds of the Word'(AG 11) in other churches, Christian communities ?
9.Are their any practical exceptions to the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus(EENS),according to the missionaries and the Magisterium of the 16th century,mentioned in Gaudium et Specs 22( saved with goodwill) ?
10.Do we know of any literal case of someone saved outside the Church with that one ray of Truth which enlightens all men (NA 2) or with 'good and holy' things in other religions(NA 2).
For me BOD, BOB and I.I and LG 8, LG14, LG 16, UR 3, NA 2, GS 22 etc refer to only hypothetical cases, always.They are not objective, personally known non Catholics saved outside the Church with 'faith and baptism'(AG 7).Since they are not examples of salvation outside the Church, they cannot be practical exceptions to the dogma EENS and exclusive salvation.They do not contradict St.Thomas Aquinas and St. Catherine of Siena of EENS. They do not contradict the past ecclesiocentric ecclesiology of the Dominicans in the Middle Ages and the ecumenism of return,.for Lutherans and others, of St.Teresa of Avila.
So Vatican Council II for me, does not contradict the Syllabus of Errors of Pope Pius IX, the Athanasius Creed( outside the Church no salvation) and the Catechism of Pope Pius X ( outside the Church no salvation).
The Letter of the Holy Office 1949 (LOHO) made an objective mistake when it postulated BOD and I.I as being exceptions to EENS according to Fr. Leonard Feeney and the St.Benedict Center.It violated the Principle of Non Contradiction and with its factual error was placed in the Denzinger.-Lionel Andrades
