Whether you believe in the Bologna School or what ever how you look at LG 16 determines how you interpret Vatican Council II

Whatever is your opinion about Vatican Council II, if  Lumen Gentium 16 ( being saved in invincible ignorance)  refers to known or unknown non- Catholics in the present times determines your interpretation of Vatican Council II.
Lumen Gentium 16 (LG 16) is an exception to the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus(EENS) or it is not.
For me it is not an exception to EENS. For about every one else it is.
You may say that you support the Bologna School in the interpretation of Vatican Council II or you support some other opinion but is LG 16 referring to known people saved outside the Church or are they just hypothetical cases?
For the Bologna School, which Pope Francis it is said supports, LG 16 refers to known people saved outside the Catholic Church. For me LG 16 is a reference to theoretical and speculative cases. So LG 16 is irrelevant to the dogma EENS and the Syllabus of Errors, which are valid and not obsolete for me.
So however you may interpret Vatican Council II finally the issue is - does LG 16 refer to known people saved outside the Church or it  refers to unknown people ? -Lionel Andrades
