These are great days- when I say that Michael Sean Winters and Massimo Faggioli interpret Vatican Council II and extra ecclesiam nulla salus(EENS) like the traditionalist Brother Andre Marie MICM- and there is no denial from them.
When I say this I assume Faggioli and Winters will interpret the Council rationally and honestly.
As adult, responsible men they will not claim that LG 8, LG 14, LG 16, UR 3, NA 2, GS 22 etc in Vatican Council II refer to real people in 2019, 'physical bodies' in Newton's time and space.This is a being honest.
They will not claim that all who are saved are saved through Jesus and the Church and that they personally know someone saved outside the Church. As humans, they would be honest.They do not know any one in 2019 saved without 'faith and baptism'(AG 7. LG 14).
They will not claim that the true Church of Christ subsists outside the visible boundaries of the Catholic Church and they know someone saved outside the Church, to contradict Brother Andre Marie's understanding of EENS. They do no know any such person. It's understood.
Physically, there cannot be any practical exception to EENS, the past ecclesiology and an ecumenism of return, whatever is the argument at the intellectual, theortical and speculative level of life.
So for Brother Andre Marie ther are no exceptions in Vatican Council II to the Syllabus of Errors of Pius IX.
Similarly Lumen Gentium does not contradict Unam Sanctam on outside the Church there is no salvation.
Vatican Council II does not contradict the ecclesiology of St.Robert Bellarmine.
However Vatican Council II interpreted according to Joseph Ratzinger is irrational and would have to contradict the ecclesiology of St. Robert Belamine and the missionaries of the 16th century.
