Pope Paul VI lifted the excommunication of Fr. Leonard Feeney and the pope did not recant. The pope interpreted the baptism of desire, baptism of blood and invincible ignorance with a false premise and so changed the traditional interpretation of the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus(EENS), the Creeds and Catechisms.
