The Catholic Church grieves today : Vatican Council II is interpreted with a false premise and it is used to ban the Traditional Latin Mass : “TRADITIONIS CUSTODES” is based upon the interpretation of Vatican Council II with the false premise, inference and conclusion and so it cannot be Magisterial.

LETTER OF THE HOLY FATHER FRANCIS TO THE BISHOPS OF THE WHOLE WORLD,THAT ACCOMPANIES THE APOSTOLIC LETTER MOTU PROPRIO DATA “TRADITIONIS CUSTODES”

(Excerpts with reference to Vatican Council II)

But I am nonetheless saddened that the instrumental use of Missale Romanum of 1962 is often characterized by a rejection not only of the liturgical reform, but of the Vatican Council II itself, claiming, with unfounded and unsustainable assertions, that it betrayed the Tradition and the “true Church”. The path of the Church must be seen within the dynamic of Tradition “which originates from the Apostles and progresses in the Church with the assistance of the Holy Spirit” ( DV 8). A recent stage of this dynamic was constituted by Vatican Council II where the Catholic episcopate came together to listen and to discern the path for the Church indicated by the Holy Spirit. To doubt the Council is to doubt the intentions of those very Fathers who exercised their collegial power in a solemn manner cum Petro et sub Petro in an ecumenical council, [14] and, in the final analysis, to doubt the Holy Spirit himself who guides the Church...

Whoever wishes to celebrate with devotion according to earlier forms of the liturgy can find in the reformed Roman Missal according to Vatican Council II all the elements of the Roman Rite, in particular the Roman Canon which constitutes one of its more distinctive elements...

A final reason for my decision is this: ever more plain in the words and attitudes of many is the close connection between the choice of celebrations according to the liturgical books prior to Vatican Council II and the rejection of the Church and her institutions in the name of what is called the “true Church.” One is dealing here with comportment that contradicts communion and nurtures the divisive tendency...

Responding to your requests, I take the firm decision to abrogate all the norms, instructions, permissions and customs that precede the present Motu proprio, and declare that the liturgical books promulgated by the saintly Pontiffs Paul VI and John Paul II, in conformity with the decrees of Vatican Council II, constitute the unique expression of the lex orandi of the Roman Rite...-Pope Francis

The  Letter of Pope Francis to the bishops that accompanies “TRADITIONIS CUSTODES” is based up the interpretation of Vatican Council II with the false premise, inference and conclusion and so it cannot be Magisterial.

If Pope Francis chose to interpret the Council with the rational premise, inference and traditional conclusion then he would be Magisterial on the Council . There would be no rupture with the past Magisterium, which he refers to in this document.

I wrote on this blog on July 14 1 that Like Summorum Pontificum, the expected new announcement from Pope Francis, will put the focus on the Latin Mass  and not Vatican Council II, the real issue at Mass in all Rites. If Vatican Council II is interpreted with the rational premise, then the Council does not contradict the past ecclesiocentric ecclesiology; the old ecclesiocentrism of the Church, at Mass in Latin, Byazantine Greek or the vernacular.

But Michael Matt at the Remnant News, for example,  does not cover this point when reporting on the Dijon problem. He uses the false premise to interpret Vatican Council II, like Bishop Roland Minnerath, the  FSSP priests and the Latin laity (and Pope Francis).

The real issue at Dijon, France is not the Latin Mass  but Vatican Council II, interpreted with a fake premiseand not without it,to create an artificial rupture with Tradition. This is a public and secular issue supported by the political Left.So the issue is not only religious but also political and related to Macron and Le Pen, in the coming elections. Macron and Le Pen could announce that Vatican Council II should be interpreted ethically and rationally in France...

The Vatican can return to the Catholic Faith when the popes, cardinals and bishops interpret the Council without the false premise.

If Vatican Council II is interpreted without the false premise collegiality, ecumenism and religious liberty are no more a controversial issue. The ecclesiology of the Mass would be traditional at even the Novus Ordo Mass...

The FSSP priests will continue to interpret Vatican Council II with the false premise and so support the liberalism of Bishop Minnerath. This would be there contribution to ' a parallel Church'? It is the false  premise which creates the parallel Church and the development of doctrine. This can easily be avoided.

Le Pen and Macron could still be asked to tell Pope Francis to re-interpret Vatican Council II rationally and honestly and review his ban of the Latin Mass. The Holy Spirit cannot make an objective and factual mistake. There is a flaw in “TRADITIONIS CUSTODES” .
