If there are exceptions to the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus (EENS) then they would have to be visible since invisible people cannot be exceptions.Someone who is not there cannot be an example of salvation outside the Church.So when the baptism of desire(BOD), baptism of blood(BOB) and invincible ignorance(I.I), are projected as exceptions to the strict interpretatioin of EENS, it is implied, that they refer to physically visible and personally known people. Otherwise how could they be exceptions?
Do you personally know of someone saved outside the Church in 2019? No.
Can you meet or see such a person? No.
When the popes and saints mentioned BOD, BOB and I.I were there known exceptions to EENS, in particular people? No.
When Vatican Council II mentions LG 16 ( invincible ignorance), LG 14 ( case of the unknown catechumen who dies before receiving the baptism of water and is saved) are they practical exceptions to EENS? No.
So Cardinal Raymond Burke could clarify that he is a rational human being and for him BOD,BOB and I.I are not exceptions to the strict 16th- century- interpretation of EENS.
Also LG 8, LG 14, LG 16 etc in Vatican Council II does not contradict the past ecclesiology. Since there is no known salvation outside the Church, in personal cases, in the present times.
There are none mentioned in Unitatis Redintigratio. So there can only remain an ecumenism of return.
A New Ecclesiology based upon there being exceptions to EENS has to be rejected by Cardinal Raymond Burke.-Lionel Andrades
