Pope Benedict needs to correct his error in the Church before he dies. He needs to announce that the baptism of desire (BOD), baptism of blood (BOB) and invincible ignorance (I.I) and LG 8, UR 3,NA 2, GS 22 etc were not exceptions to extra ecclesiam nulla salus(EENS), the past ecclesiology and an ecumenism of return.

He made a mistake in two papers of the International Theological Commission, when he considered LG 16 and GS 22 as exceptions to Feeneyite EENS.
He made a mistake in March 2016 ( Avvenire) when he considered EENS today as no more being like it was for the missionaries in the 16th century since there were exceptions in Vatican Council II.
He remained silent when Pope Paul VI interpreted Vatican Council II as a rupture with the past ecclesiology and not a continuity.
He did not show Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre his mistake but instead had him excommunicated.
He needs to announce that BOD, BOB and I.I and LG 8, LG 16, UR 3, NA 2, GS 22 etc in Vatican Council II are not real people in 2019. They are not 'physical bodies' which follow the laws of Newton. We cannot see or meet someone saved outside the Church in real time and space.They are not matter in the sense of physics and do not follow the laws of force and velocity and momentum.
So Pope Benedict should apologize before he dies. He needs to admit that he made a mistake. He wrongly assumed BOD, BOB and I.I and LG 8 etc were exceptions to EENS. Then upon this irrationality he created a New Theology, New Ecumenism, New Ecclesiology and New Evangelisation and changed Canon Law to support the error.-Lionel Andrades
