Living the Catechism of the Catholic Church by Cardinal Schonborn (Ignatius) is inadequate. It has interpreted the Catechism irrationally with the Cushingite premise, inference and conclusion. The Catechism of the Catholic Church and Vatican Council II can be interpreted without the Ratzinger theology.

Living the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Vol. 1
Living the Catechism of the Catholic Church by Cardinal  Christoph Schönborn(Ignatius Press) is based upon Vatican Council II interpreted with the false premise, inference and conclusion. There would be confusion, for example,  on CCC 846 (Outside the Church No Salvation )and 1257( The Necessity of Baptism ).
Cardinal Schonborn is a Cushingite like Pope Benedict. For him invisible and hypothetical cases would be objective non Catholics saved outside the Church in the present times 1960-2020.He needs to create a break with Tradition. So LG 8, LG 14, LG 16, UR 3, NA 2, GS 22 etc would refer to visible and known people saved outside the Church without faith and the baptism of water. Only in this way there can be exceptions to Feeneyite extra ecclesiam nulla salus(EENS) and the past exclusivist ecclesiology of the Catholic Church. He wants a rupture with Tradition( Syllabus of Errors of Pope Pius IX, Athanasius Creed etc).

For me LG 8, LG 14, LG 16, UR 3, NA 2, GS 22 etc are hypothetical cases only. I am interpreting the Catechism with Feeneyism and not Cushingism. So CCC 847-848 ( invincible ignorance) would refer to hypothetical cases. They  would not contradict Ad Gentes 7 which says all need faith and baptism for salvation.

Similarly in  CCC 846 which suggests all who are saved are saved through Jesus and the Church, again the reference is  to theoretical cases, for me.It is speculation and not real people known in real life. We do not know of any one saved outside the Church without faith and  baptism and instead with the baptism of desire(BOD), baptism of blood(BOB) and invincible ignorance(I.I).We do not know any one saved outside the Church-period. So CCC 846 no where contradicts Ad Gentes 7 which says all need faith and baptism for salvation. This is reading CCC 846 too ,with Feeneyism.
For Cushingites,Cardinal  Christoph Schönborn and Pope Benedict, CCC 846 would refer to practical exceptions to 16th century EENS. This was how the Archbishop- Secretaries of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, interpreted the Catechism of the Catholic Church in their correspondence with Brother Andre Marie MICM, Prior, Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, St. Benedict Center, New Hamphsire.
So Living the Catechism of the Catholic Church by Cardinal Schonborn is inadequate. It has interpreted the Catechism irrationally, using the Cushingite premise, inference and conclusion. The Catechism of the Catholic Church  and Vatican Council II can be interpreted without the Ratzinger theology.
The Ignatius Press books on Vatican Council II and the Catechism of the Catholic Church carry an objective mistake. They need to be replaced and phased out. New books need to be written which interpret Vatican Council II and the Catechism of the Catholic Church with the rational premise, inference and conclusion which is not a rupture with the past ecclesiocentric ecclesiology, an ecumenism of return with no known exceptiions, and extra ecclesiam nulla salus, with no known exceptions.-Lionel Andrades
