Cardinal Ratzinger and Cardinal Ruini issued a statement on inter faith civil marriages. They spoke of the rights of the women who is separated or divorced, of which they should be informed. But since Vatican Council II is interpreted with a false premise by them and so there are exceptions to EENS and exclusive salvation in the Catholic Church, they assumed that the non Catholic spouse could be saved outside the Church. They did not tell the Catholic spouse that such marriages are adultery and the non Catholic spouse was outside the Church and so on the way to Hell
