Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger as Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF) did not tell Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre that Vatican Council II could be interpreted with the Rational Premise and the conclusion was traditional, there was a hermeneutic of continuity with Tradition. He must apologize for asking the Society of St. Pius X, to accept the irrational version of the Council, for canonical recognition.
