Cushingism is the source of other heresies in the Catholic Church and it is widespread like a spiritual epidemic. In 2019 the whole Catholic Church is Cushingite.
Cardinal Richard Cushing, the Archbishop of Boston approved the heresy in the Fr. Leonard Feeney case. He assumed unknown cases of the baptism of desire(BOD), baptism of blood(BOB) and being saved in invincible ignorance(I.I) were known exceptions to the traditional interpretation of extra ecclesiam nulla salus(EENS). So EENS as it was known to the missionaries and Magisterium of the 16th century had exceptions of BOD, BOB and I.I.He approved the heresy in the Letter of the Holy Office 1949.The archdiocese of Boston kept the heretical Letter hidden for three years and then mysteriously made it public. Jesuit Fr. Karl Rahner placed it in the Denzinger even though it has an objective error.
Cushing did not lift the excommunication of Fr. Leonard Feeney right through Vatican Council II.Then when the Boston secular newspapers wrote that the Church had changed its position on 'the rigorist interpretation' of the dogma EENS he did not issue a correction.
Along with the Jesuits at Vatican Council II, in Nostra Aetate and other documents of the Council, he projected hypothetical cases as being objective exceptions to the traditional strict interpretation of EENS.
Fr. Leonard Feeney was condemned since he was orthodox on EENS. He said there were no literal cases of the baptism of desire.For Cardinal Cushing there were literal cases of the BOD, BOB and I.I. So for him Feeneyite EENS was obsolete.He could allegedly see and know people saved outside the Church or were going to be saved outside the Church in Boston and the USA.
He supported the Jesuits in the Archdiocese when they expelled Fr. Leonard Feeney, who affirmed the strict interpretation of EENS and did not accept invisible cases of the BOD, BOB and I.I being visible exceptions.
So the past ecclesiology, an ecumenism of return, the Syllabus of Errors and the Athanasius Creed were all put aside with this new alleged known salvation outside the Church.
This was all approved by Archbishop Cushing in Boston with the support of the popes and cardinals in Rome.
Extra ecclesiam nulla salus(Feeenyite) with BOD, BOB and I.I not being exceptions was replaced in the Catholic Church with EENS Cushingite having BOD, BOB and I.I as exceptions.
This was irrational and heresy and of course affected other doctrines. The old rational theology was changed with a new and irrational one.
Since BOD, BOB and I.I referred to known Catholics saved outside the Church, this became BOD,BOB and I.I Cushingite. This differed from the traditional and rational BOD, BOB and I.I over the centuries, which was Feeneyite. The popes and saints accepted BOD, BOB and I.I as being speculative and hypothetical. Since in real life it could not be anything else. So for them them BOD, BOB and I.I were not exceptions to Feeneyite EENS.But the liberal theologians,re-interpreted the popes over the centuries with Cushingism.
Pope John XXIII accepted EENS( Cushingite) and so did Pope Paul VI.
Vatican Council II was interpreted with Cushingism instead of Feeneyism by Pope Paul VI and the result was heretical. There was a rupture with the dogma EENS, the old Catechisms, and the Creeds.This heretical interpretation continues even today in the Profession of Faith which is modernistic.
Redemptoris Missio, Dominus Iesus, the Catechism of the Catholic Church(1994) and other magisterial documents were interpreted with Cushingism.
So now Catholics can interpret Vatican Council II and the Catechism of the Catholic Church with Cushingism or Feeneyism and most Catholics like the popes choose Cushingism.
Catholics can interpret the Creeds with Cushingism or Feeneyism and most Catholics choose the modernist version.
Since there is alleged salvation outside the Church with Cushingism there is no more traditional mission.Also inter faith marriages are no more considered adultery since the non Catholic spouse could supposedly be saved outside the Church.
Bishop Robert Barron says we can have a reasonable hope that most men are saved when with Feeneyism the conclusion would be the opposite.His reasoning is with Cushingism.
There is now doctrinal chaos. The popes from Paul VI to Pope Francis are in a schism with the popes before Pius XII on EENS, BOD, BOB and I.I, Creeds, Catechisms etc. Vatican Council II ( Cushingite) is a break with Tradition and the past popes on ecclesiology, salvation, mission, ecumenism etc.Mass in all rites is offered with new Cushingite ecclesiology....
Pope Francis justified his statement at Abu Dhabi with Vatican Council II (Cushingite). Cardinal Walter Kasper justified the Eucharist being given to the divorced and remarried with Cushingite Vatican Council II. He said that if ecclesiology can be changed ( with Cushingism) then why cannot the Eucharist be given to the divorced and re-married ?
Pope Francis' New Ecumenism is based upon Cushingism. With Feeneyite Vatican Council II there can only be an ecumenism of return since the conclusion is that there is no salvation outside the Church.
With Feeneyite Vatican Council II membership in the Church is necessary with faith and baptism and this is the basis for mission and evangelisation. With Cushingite Vatican Council II the Church is Christological only and not ecclesio centric. So it is Jesus without the necessity of membership in the Catholic Church. This is the foundation of the New Evangelisation.
Now changes will be brought into the Church at the Amazon Synod since the pope and all the cardinals and bishops are Cushingite.-Lionel Andrades
