For them Vatican Council II was not just a pastoral Council, but it was dogmatic, it rejected the doctrinal teaching on the Catholic Church having exclusive salvation. This was accomplished by confusing Lumen Gentium 8, 14, 16 etc as referring to visible and objective non Catholics saved outside the Church. This is irrational. Since if such cases did exist they would only be known to God.
So there is a parallel interpretation of Vatican Council II, for the liberals, there is a parallel magisterium that of the past and that of the present, there is a parallel Church whose catechesis is not the same as that of Jesuit missionaries in the 16th century.
