Pope Francis needs Pope Benedict's cooperation since if Pope Benedict announces that he had made a mistake all these years and that Vatican Council II can be interpreted without the false premise, without the New Theology, then this will restrict Pope Francis' liberalism. He will no more be able to cite Vatican Council II interpreted with the false premise. The Church will return to the times of the Jesuit missionaries in the Middle Ages but in harmony with Vatican Council II(without the irrationality).-Lionel Andrades

If Pope Benedict and Pope Francis announce that Vatican Council II can be interpreted without the false premise we will have doctrinal unity in the Catholic Church. Now the two popes are promoting division
If Pope Benedict announces that Vatican Council II is to be interpreted without the false premise and that in the past he had made a mistake what will be Pope Francis' reaction. - Lionel Andrades

If Pope Francis announces that Vatican Council II is to be interpreted without the false premise Cardinal Kasper and Bishop Fellay would be on the same side.
If Pope Francis announces that Vatican Council II is to be interpreted without the false premise Cardinal Kasper and Bishop Fellay would be on the same side. Cardinal Kasper would not interpret Vatican Council II to create liberalism and a rupture with Tradition(EENS etc).Bishop Fellay would not interpret Vatican Council II to create a rupture with Tradition and then reject the Council. The traditional-liberal concept and division will end. Since all could interpret Vatican Council II, rationally and in harmony with Tradition. -Lionel Andrades
