The Athanasius Creed is obsolete for Bishop Peter Libasci, the Bishop of Manchester, USA and the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF).Since for them invisible cases of the baptism of desire, baptism of blood and being saved in invincible ignorance are practical examples of salvation outside the Church and so they are literal exceptions to the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus(EENS). There is salvation outside the Church for them. The Athanasius Creeds says outside the Church there is no salvation

So outside the Church there is known salvation for the CDF and the Diocese while the Athanasius Creed says outside the Church there is no salvation.

The Diocese of Manchester, has informed the Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, N.H that they cannot pledge the Catholic Faith by affirming the Athanasius Creed.

Since the Athanasius Creed directly says outside the Church there is no salvation his is a problem for the Cushingite Curia in the diocese.

Bishop Peter Libasci does not realize that even the Nicene Creed and the Apostles Creed is being interpreted with Cushingism by the Diocese.(See right hand bar for details on Nicene Creed, Apostles Creed, Profession of Faith, Oath of Office, Oath Against Modernism etc).
 So the Profession of Faith and Oath of Office  with Cushingism is modernism.It is opposed to the Oath Against Modernism of previous popes.
The issue is complicationed with the sedevacantist, traditional community, CMRI in the diocese, also interpreting the Creeds, Catechisms and Vatican Council II with Cushingism.
The Diocese of Manchester and the CDF refer to a 'nuanced' version of EENS which is only possible with Cushingism.
