Jesus asked Sr.Faustina Kowalski to pray this novena for 'heretics and schismatics'. Jesus wanted prayers said for their salvation.
At that time the Catholic Church affirmed the literal interpretation of the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus. The dogma specificially states that 'heretics and schismatics' need to convert into the Catholic Church to avoid the fires of Hell.(Cantate Domino, Council of Florence). The novena today afternoon had the very words of the dogma -'heretics and schismatics'.
LG 16 also does not state that we know any explicit case of a non Catholic saved in invincible ignorance etc.Neither does LG 16 state that this is an explict exception to the dogma. The Vatican negotiators had to wrongly assume that they are explicit exceptions to the dogma.
The two Vatican negotiators, Cardinal Ladaria and Bishop Morerod have included this error in the theological papers of the International Theological Commission (ITC) and it can be seen on the ITC website. No one from the SSPX has made the ITC error public.
Jesus was reminding me ,at least, today afternoon, that we have to pray for the salvation of those who believe in Jesus but are not in the Catholic Church.
When Sr.Faustina wrote down this novena in her Diary I don't know if it was before or after the time that the error had come into the Church. I would have to check the date.It was in the 1940's that the Archbishop of Boston Cardinal Richard Cushing and the Jesuits there, put forward this new theory of the explicitly known case of non Catholics saved in invincible ignorance and the baptism of desire. This was not an issue in Poland at least but later it would spread there and throughout the world, even to the Vatican.
The Ladaria-Morerod team had no text in Vatican Council II to support their heretical position since LG 16 is not an exception to Ad Gentes7 or the dogma Cantate Domino, whose text is included in the Council of Trent.
Heretics and schismatics with whom joint ecumenical prayers are being held are all oriented to Hell unless they convert into the Catholic Church according to Vatican Council II (AG 7), since they do not have Catholic Faith.-Lionel Andrades
