CARDINAL KOCH MOUTHS HERESY AT THE ANGELICUM UNIVERSITY: THROWS AWAY VATICAN COUNCIL II, BIBLE AND DOGMA

Cardinal Kurt Koch said yesterday (1) that relationship with Jews must be based on Nostra Aetate, Vatican Council II. The President of the Pontifical Council of Christian Unity and relations with the Jews, did not say that Nostra Aetate 4 says the Church is the new people of God. Hence  there is the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus. This is also the teaching of Vatican Council II (AG 7). According to Vatican Council II (AG 7,LG 14) Cardinal Koch does not realize, all Jews need Catholic Faith and t he baptism of water for salvation ( to avoid Hell).

This is also the position of Bishop Richard Williamson and the SSPX (Society of St. Pius X).AG 7 is in accord with the SSPX traditional teaching on Judaism, other religions  and  ecumenism.

The cardinal, who was speaking in the afternoon to reporters after attending the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith meeting in the morning, was mouthing heresy at the Angelicum where he gave a talk. He was saying that Jews do not have to convert and there was no mission to the Jews. This contradicts Vatican Council II (AG 7), the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus and magisterial documents of Pope John Paul II (Dominus Iesus 20, Catechism of the Catholic Church 846 etc).

Cardinal Koch said 'Catholics profess that, in the end, all salvation will be accomplished through Jesus Christ....’ He does not say that Jews need to convert in the present time but that at some future time unknown to him they will be saved through Jesus Christ. Note they will be saved by Jesus Christ in their religion and will not have to convert even then too.

He added “it does not necessarily follow that the Jews are excluded from God’s salvation because they do not believe in Jesus Christ as the Messiah of Israel and the son of God,”. This completely ignores Vatican Council II.Vatican Council II says all Jews need to convert for salvation but the cardinal cannot mention this. He even believes that Jews can be saved in general in the present time without entering the Church and believing in Jesus. He throws away also the teachings of St.Thomas Aquinas besides  Vatican Council II.

Then the cardinal says at the University of St.Thomas Aquinas “That the Jews are participants in God’s salvation is theologically unquestionable, but how that can be possible without confessing Christ explicitly is and remains an unfathomable divine mystery.” It is a mystery since he cannot cite any text from Vatican Council II. So for him it is a mystery how Jews can be saved without entering the Church or believing in Jesus however he accepts this new doctrine. The liberals calls it a mystery when it contradicts the traditional teaching and it is thrust upon them with threats of violence and war.

It may mentioned that Nostra Aetate does not contradict Ad Gentes 7. Nostra Aetate does not state that the Jews are saved in general in Judaism or that Jews do not have to convert for salvation.

The Church accepts the possibility ‘in certain circumstances’ (Letter of the Holy Office 1949) of Jews and other non Catholics being saved in invincible ignorance, the baptism of desire etc. However these cases are known only to God and are unknown to us. So they do not contradict AG 7 or the literal interpretation of the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus.

The Church admits that there can be ‘good and holy’ people (Nostra Aetate) in other religions but does not claim to know who they are or if they are saved. In principle the Church accepts the possibility of good and holy people in other religions being saved. In reality, explicitly we do not know any particular case.So AG 7 is not contradicted.Cardinal Koch cannot cite any text from Nostra Aetate or Vatican Council II which contradicts AG 7.

The dogma Cantate Domino, Council of Florence 1441 specifically mentions Jews, Orthodox Christians (schismatics) and Protestants (heretics) needing to convert into the Catholic Church to avoid 'the fires of Hel'l. This is also the message of Vatican Council II (AG 7) and there are no known exceptions.

Cardinal Koch attended the CDF meeting  which took decisions about the SSPX bishops. He is not excommunicated like the Sri Lankan OMI priest Fr. Tissa Balasuriya who denied the dogma of the Immaculate Conception of Our Lady, during the pontificate of Pope John Paul II. Extra ecclesiam nulla salus has been defined three times.Koch denies it and is not excommunicated.

In his speech at Rome’s Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas, he said “Nostra Aetate” is “the ‘foundation document’ and the ‘Magna Carta’ of the dialogue of the Roman Catholic Church with Judaism.”

‘The church’s theological reflection on its Jewish roots, as well as on the relationship between God’s covenant with the Jewish people and the new covenant instituted by Christ have been developed further and authoritatively by Blessed John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI, he said. He meant that the pope, like him, says Jews do not have to convert and he is even including Pope John Paul’s  name, the pope who gave us Dominus Iesus.Dominus Iesus (20) says Jesus died for all people and to receive this salvation all people need to enter the Church

‘God’s plan of salvation for humanity began with his covenant with the Jewish people and if Christianity ignores that,' he said, 'it is in danger of losing its location within salvation history.' He ignores that the Catholic Church is the continuation of the Jewish religion. Catholics are the Chosen People of God (NA 4), Catholics have the Jewish Messiah, Catholics have the eternal covenant and the Sacrifice of the Mass.

'For Pope Benedict,' the cardibal said,' the key to the theological understanding of the importance of a relationship with Judaism and Jews is that the Bible is one book detailing the entire history of salvation. He does not mention that in the Bible Jesus says Jews need to convert.(John 3.5, Mk.16:16 etc).

“The Catholic Church neither conducts nor supports any specific institutional mission work directed toward the Jews,”  the cardinal conceded.

Jesus said to go out into the whole world and proclaim the Good News, those who do not believe will be condemned ‘but that does not exclude Christians bearing witness to their faith “in an unassuming and humble manner.” He means as long as it is not public and known to Jews in general.

It is not known what would be his reaction if the SSPX bishops and priests affirmed Ad Gentes 7 and said that invincible ignorance and the baptism of desire are not exceptions to Vatican Council II (AG 7,LG 14).

These are sad times the cardinal denies the Catholic Faith in public and instead of being excommunicated has the support of the pope.-Lionel Andrades

Pope Benedict XVI has rejected Vatican Council II (AG 7) in Light of the World p.107: Also Cardinals Bertone, Bagnasco, Koch and Ladaria. Yet three SSPX bishops could be excommunicated for only ‘saying’ they reject the Council

Pope Benedict XVI has rejected Vatican Council II (AG 7) in Light of the World p.107: Also Cardinals Bertone, Bagnasco, Koch and Ladaria. Yet three SSPX bishops could be excommunicated for only ‘saying’ they reject the Council

Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone,Vatican Secretary of State says Jews do not have to convert in the present times in a Letter to the Chief Rabbinate of Israel. This contradicts Ad Gentes 7, Vatican Council II.

Cardinal Bagnasco ,President of the Italian Bishops Conference, in an official directive says Jews do not have to convert. He contradicts Ad Gentes 7, Vatican Council II which says all need Catholic Faith and the baptism of water for salvation.

Cardinal Luiz Ladaria, Secretary of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith,Vatican assumes invincible ignorance and being saved with a good conscience (LG 16) are explicitly known exceptions to AG 7, Vatican Council II.

Cardinal Kurt Koch, President of the Pontifical Council for Christian Unity and relations with the Jews, rejects the SSPX position on Judaism and ecumenism. He contradicts AG 7 which indicates all people, Orthodox Christians and Protestants too, need Catholic Faith for salvation.

The pope and his Curia have accepted these heretical positions under pressure from Talmud Jews. Newspapers have reported threats from the Chief Rabbinate of Israel.

Now they are trying to thrust it upon the SSPX bishops with threats of excommunication. They themelf in reality do not accept Vatican Council II.

Bishop Richard Williamson and the other SSPX bishops are in agreement with AG 7, Vatican Council II on ecumenism, Judaism and other religions. They only ‘say’ they reject Vatican Council II when in reality their traditional Catholic values are those of Vatican Council II. They do reject the Koch-Ladaria version of Vatican Council II which is a break from tradition with their explicitly known invincible ignorance, a good conscience etc.

Pope Benedict XVI in Light of the World (Ignatius p.107) has repeated that Jews do not have to convert in the present times. This is contrary to Vatican Council II, the Nicene Creed (‘I believe in one baptism…), the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus and the Bible (John 3:5, Mk.16:16 etc).

In his ‘one channel’ of salvation (p.107) Pope Benedict XVI suggests those who are saved are saved through Jesus and the Church. This is fine. However he is implying every one does not have to convert into the Church for salvation. Since he assumes that those saved in invincible ignorance and a good conscience (LG 16) are know to us and so are exceptions to the literal interpretation of the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus and to AG 7, Vatican Council II.

Cardinal Luiz Ladaria S.J says that the Church no more teaches an ecclesiocentric ecclesiology or the literal interpretation of extra ecclesiam nulla salus. Since Pope Pius XII in the Letter of the Holy Office 1949 corrected Fr. Leonard Feeney.(Christianity and the World Religions 1997,ITC). If Pope Pius XIII or the cardinals believed that the baptism of desire was an explicit exception to the dogma, then they obviously made an objective, factual error. The Letter of the Holy Office 1949 however, Cardinal Ladaria does not admit, supported Fr. Leonard Feeney in the first pragagraphs. It refers to ‘the dogma’, ‘the infallible teaching’. The text of the dogma a, addressed to the Archbishop of Boston, indicates all Jews in Boston, and the rest of he world, need to convert into the Catholic Church to avoid the pains of Hell.

This is also the message of Vatican Council II but no one from the Vatican Curia admits it in public, Instead they want to axe the three SSPX bishops.

Therefore, all must be converted to Him, made known by the Church's preaching, and all must be incorporated into Him by baptism and into the Church which is His body. For Christ Himself "by stressing in express language the necessity of faith and baptism (cf. Mark 16:16; John 3:5), at the same time confirmed the necessity of the Church, into which men enter by baptism, as by a door.-Ad Gentes 7,Vatican Council II.

Those also can attain to salvation who through no fault of their own do not know the Gospel of Christ or His Church, yet sincerely seek God and moved by grace strive by their deeds to do His will as it is known to them through the dictates of conscience.-Lumen Gentium 16
