The bishop of Portsmouth, England has visited a school of the Society of St.Pius X and Pope Francis has approved the ordination of two new bishops of the Society of St. Pius X(SSPX) it was reported last week.
These new bishops proclaim the New Ecclesiology and use the New Theology, like the rest of the Catholic Church, which they have been criticizing all these years.
So indirectly the SSPX is being recognised.
1.They had agreed not to critiicize the Vatican document on the Jews.It said Jews do not need to convert.
2.They did not object to Pope Benedict saying extra ecclesiam nulla salus is no more like it was for the missionaries in the 16th century.
3.They kept silent when Cardinal Ladaria said that Lumen Gentium 8 was a rupture with traditional EENS at the Placuqet Deo Press Conference. The SSPX has always interpreted LG 8 as referring to known people saved outside the Church.So LG 8, LG 16, UR 3 etc were objective examples of salvation outside the Church for them.They became objective exceptions to EENS. This is how the liberal interpret the Council. However it is also how Archbishop Lefebvre interpreted the Council.
4.The SSPX has also not affirmed the Social Reign of Christ the King in specific cases, supporting Catholic political parties, for example in Italy.
So with the SSPX silent on these issues and not proclaiming the Social Reign of Christ the King and the non separation of Church and State, they have been accepted by the Vatican and the Left.
5.Recently while commenting on the Abu Dhabi meeting of Pope Francis, the new superior general of the SSPX, did not state that all Muslims need to formally enter the Catholic Church for salvation, according to Vatican Council II (AG 7) and the Catechism of the Catholic Church (846) and there are no objective exceptions in LG 8, LG 16, UR 3, GS 22 etc.So he too met the new conditions for canonical recognition.
Even the SSPX Resistance groups like those of Fr. Joseph Pfeiffer in the USA do not interpret Vatican Council II, without the irrational premise, and so there is no rupture with the Syllabus of Errors of Pope Pius X, EENS and an ecumenism of return.
They oppose the Vatican, but unknowingly are still using the New Theology based upon visible cases of the baptism of desire(BOD), baptism of blood(BOB) and being saved in invincible ignorance(I.I). So at the old Mass, on the salvation-issue they too are liberals.
Fr.Pfeiffer's articles on Feeneyism can still be read on the SSPX website. He assumes that invisible cases of BOD, BOB and I.I are objective and visible exceptions to Feeneyite EENS. Similarly he assumes personally unknown cases of LG 8 etc, are personally known exceptions to the traditional interpretation of EENS. This is was the same message as Cardinal Ladaria at the Placquet Deo Press Conference.
Personally unknown cases of being saved in invincible ignorance are not visible exceptions to EENS for us human beings on earth. The SSPX and the CDF are irrational.
Vatican Council II supports the strict interpretation of the dogma EENS, but for both groups of the SSPX, Vatican Council II was only a pastoral Council and not dogmatic.This is the same theological position of the liberals and traditionalists.
For me Lumen Gentium, the Dogmatic Constitution on the Church, supports the dogma EENS, as it was known to the Magisterium and missionaries in the 16th century.I am not a liberal like the present day ecclesiastics and the SSPX.It is Vatican Council,when interpreted rationally, which says, there are, and can only be, Catholics in Heaven.
