I met my Parish Priest this morning

 

I met my Parish Priest this morning, Don Paolo Boumis, at the church of San Agapito Rome. He was concerned about the posts on this blog which referred to him. He is under some pressure from the Left.

I met him a few months back and mentioned that the baptism of desire and being saved in invincible ignorance referred to only hypothetical cases. We could not meet or see someone saved as such in the present times. He agreed with me. I mentioned that for me LG 8, LG 14, LG 15, LG 16, UR 3, NA 2, GS 22 etc referred to invisible people in 2023. In the past I would interpret them as exceptions for the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus (EENS), In other words I implied wrongly that they were objective cases, physically visible examples of salvation outside the Church. This I now know is irrational but did not know this in the past. He agreed with me. It made sense. He did not have objections.

I then mentioned on my blog that I met him and he agreed with the obvious. There were no physically visible cases of LG 8 etc.

So Don Paulo Boumis when he says there are invisible cases of LG 14 etc, implies, that there are no practical exceptions for the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus and the rest of Tradition, in Vatican Council II. The Council supports the dogma EENS with Ad Gentes 7, I told him at subsequent meetings,This was he held talks on the Middle Ages in his series on Church History.There are no objective exceptions for Ad Gentes 7, mentioned in the Council-text.

He cited Nostra Aetate and I said that there is nothing in Nostra Aetate to contradict Ad Gentes 7 which says all need faith and baptism for salvation. We cannot cite Nostra Aetate by excluding Ad Gentes 7.Also the Catechism of the Catholic Church says outside the Church there is no salvation and there are no exceptions mentioned in Vatican Council II, in CCC 845-846,  when LG 8 etc are interpreted rationally.

He sent me an e-mail asking  how could I attribute so much to him when we spoke briefly. I told him that I could conclude all that, when he agreed that çG 8, LG 14, LG 16, UR 3, NA 2, Gs 22 etc were only hypothetical cases for us and known only to God. This is common knowledge.

I also sent him blog posts mentioning that the priests of the Missionaries of Charity of Mother Teresa in Rome, in the parish, also agree that LG 8 etc refer to hypothetical cases only in the present times..

I said in reply to his e-mail to me, that he still did not deny that LG 8, 14, 15, 16, UR 3, NA 2, and GS 22 etc refer to physically invisible cases. If they happened it would only be known to God. He still today does not deny that LG 8 etc refer to invisible cases and I agree with him. They are invisible cases for us humans.

I posted a report in detail about the conclusions which arise when he says that LG 8 etc are hypothetical cases only.I then posted the blog posts to him and also the Missionaries of Charity of Mother Teresa and others. There was no communication from Don Paulo Boumis.

 I would go to the church every morning where I would put on my ‘badge’ and often I would meet him. We never spoke about this issue, for months.

Now there is some pressure on him and he says that he does not want to discuss theology and he does not want to be quoted on this blog.

If he could tell me specifically what he wants to say and what he does not, it would be helpful.  Also if he would issue a clarification which is specific I could post it on this blog.

There is no denial from Cardinal Victor Manuel Fernandez, the journalists in Rome and now the Faculty of Theology at the University of St. Thomas Aquinas, Rome. They agree with me. For them too LG 8,14,15,16,UR 3,NA 2,GS 22 etc in Vatican Council II refer to only hypothetical cases , physically invisible people in 2024.This is a given. It is common sense.

So it means that their concept of Vatican Council II has changed. The Council has a continuity with Tradition, with the past exclusivist ecclesiology. Ad Gentes 7 says all need faith and baptism for salvation and LG 8 etc are not exceptions. The Catechism of the Catholic Church (846) says outside the Church there is no salvation and there are no exceptions known in particular cases in 2024 and none are mentioned in Vatican Council II.

The Church is saying after Vatican Council II that all non Catholics must enter the Catholic Church for salvation from Hell (AG 7, LG 14, CCC 845,846 etc).

The New Theology was based upon their being exceptions for EENS which were mentioned in the 1949 Letter of the Holy Office to the Archbishop of Boston (LOHO).So the Church moved from being Ecclesiocentric to only Christocentric, without the necessity of membership in the Church.

Now with the Council in harmony with the strict interpretation of the dogma EENS of the Church Councils (Fourth Lateran Council 1215 etc), there can only be the old exclusivist ecclesiology with its ecumenism of return to the Catholic Church.

The New Theology emerged after the dogma EENS was made obsolete with there being alleged visible cases of LG 8 etc in the present times.

The Dominicans are now saying that LG 8 etc are not exceptions for EENS, the Athanasius Creed, the Syllabus of Errors and the Catechism of Pope Pius X (24Q, 27Q) and the rest of Tradition. There is no extraordinary means of salvation known to us human beings in real life and the ordinary means of salvation still is Catholic faith with the baptism of water. So are back to the ecclesiology of the founders of the Order of Preacher.

The New Theology emerged after the 1949 LOHO wrongly assumed that invisible cases of the baptism of desire and being saved in invincible ignorance were visible exceptions for Feeneyite EENS.

Now restricted by Vatican Council II, Cardinal Fernandez is saying that Judaism, Islamism, Hinduism and the other ‘great religions’, though they have good things in them(NA 2), are not paths to salvation and there is the need for  Traditional Mission.

It means ecclesial organizations and religious communities must switch from the Christocentric New Evangelization to the Eccesiocentric, Tradition Mission. The Church returns to the EENS of the missionaries and Magisterium of the 16^th century.

Interpreting LG 8 etc as referring to visible cases in the present times cannot be Magisterial. Since it is irrational and deceptive. It is unethical to continue to interpret Vatican Council II with the same error. 

It means that when the baptism of desire and being saved in invincible ignorance are mentioned in the Creeds, they are wronly assumed to be visible cases and so the conclusion is non traditional. This is heretical. A priest cannot offer Holy Mass in any rite by changing the meaning of the Creeds. He cannot use a  false premise, inference and conclusion, to produce a new version of the three Creeds.

It also means vocations to the religious life must only interpret Vatican Council II, rationally. This is obligatory. Young people must not ask to be deceptive.

Also when making religious vows, obedience must be pledged only to Vatican Council, Creeds, old Councils and the Catechisms interpreted rationally. It would be the same for the Oath of Office of the Bishop or an Oath Against Modernism. It is the irrational premise which produces modernism.So the interpretation of Vatican Council II by the liberals and traditionalists has been modernist all these years.

All Catholics must interpret the Nicene, Athanasius and Apostles Creed without the common modernism. They simply have to be rational and honest and things fall into place. W

Also the Novus Ordo Mass has to follow the past ecclesiology to avoid public heresy and modernism. -Lionel Andrades

The mainline Church is coming back to Tradition as liberal priest-professors interpret LG 8, 14, 15, 16 UR 3, NA 2, GS 22, etc, as being only hypothetical. They are not objective exceptions in 1965-204, for the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus (EENS).

The Redemptoris Mater Missionary Seminary of the Neo Catechumenal Way in Rome, still interprets invisible cases of LG 8,1,4,15,16,UR 3, NA 2, GS 22 etc in Vatican Council II irrationally : 76 seminaries of the Way make the same error and there is no correction from Kiko Arguello
