This time in Church history is an important time to recover
 the documents of the pre-Vatican II popes. In reading Pope
 Pius IX's encyclical 'Quanto Conficiamur Moerore' (On
 Promotion Of False Doctrines) we see the clear teaching of
 the Church concerning salvation for those outside the
Church as well as the necessity of their conversion. When
 is the last time you have heard this preached? Below are
 paragraphs six through nine of the document. We must
as Catholics be prepared to deal with the modernists
 now found in every corner of the Church trying to
deceive the faithful.
6. Now, since our Apostolic Office demands we carefully
 and zealously defend the cause of the Church committed 
to us by Christ, we condemn those who attack and despise 
the Church itself, its sacred laws, ministers, and this 
Apostolic See. Hence, with this letter, once more we 
confirm, proclaim and condemn totally and singly that
 which in many consistorial allocutions and in our other
 Letters we have been forced to deplore, declare and 
condemn.[3]

7. Here, too, our beloved sons and venerable brothers,
 it is again necessary to mention and censure a very 
grave error entrapping some Catholics who believe that
 it is possible to arrive at eternal salvation although living 
in error and alienated from the true faith and Catholic 
unity. Such belief is certainly opposed to Catholic teaching.
 There are, of course, those who are struggling with 
invincible ignorance about our most holy religion. Sincerely
 observing the natural law and its precepts inscribed by
 God on all hearts and ready to obey God, they live honest
 lives and are able to attain eternal life by the
 efficacious virtue of divine light and grace. Because
 God knows, searches and clearly understands the minds,
 hearts, thoughts, and nature of all, his supreme kindness
 and clemency do not permit anyone at all
 who is not guilty of deliberate sin to suffer eternal 
punishments.

8. Also well known is the Catholic teaching that no 
one can be saved outside the Catholic Church. Eternal
 salvation cannot be obtained by those who oppose the
 authority and statements of the same Church and are
 stubbornly separated from the unity of the Church and 
also from the successor of Peter, the Roman 
Pontiff, to whom “the custody of the vineyard has been
 committed by the Savior.”[4] The words of Christ are 
clear enough: “If he refuses to listen even to the Church,
 let him be to you a Gentile and a tax collector;”[5] “He 
who hears you hears me, and he who rejects you, rejects
 me, and he who rejects me, rejects him who sent 
me;”[6] “He who does not believe will be 
condemned;”[7] “He who does not believe is already
 condemned;”[8] “He who is not with me is against me,
and he who does not gather with me scatters.”[9] The 
Apostle Paul says that such persons are “perverted 
and self-condemned;”[10] the Prince of the Apostles 
calls them “false teachers . . . who will secretly bring
 in destructive heresies, even denying the Master. . . 
bringing upon themselves swift destruction.”[11]

9. God forbid that the children of the Catholic 
Church should even in any way be unfriendly to
 those who are not at all united to us by the same 
bonds of faith and love. On the contrary, let
 them be eager always to attend to their needs 
with all the kind services of Christian charity,
 whether they are poor or sick or suffering any 
other kind of visitation. First of all, let them 
rescue them from the darkness of the errors 
into which they have unhappily fallen and strive
 to guide them back to Catholic truth and to 
their most loving Mother who is ever holding 
out her maternal arms to receive them 
lovingly back into her fold. 
Thus, firmly founded in faith, hope, and 
charity and fruitful in every good work,
 they will gain eternal salvation.

Someone needs to help Cardinal Luiz Ladaria, Archbishop Pozzo and Archbishop Di Noia see how they use a false premise to interpret Vatican Council II

Lumen Gentium 14 which tells us that only those who 'know' need to enter the Catholic Church for salvation was a mistake in Vatican Council II and it reflects the error of the Letter of the Holy Office 1949 to the Archbishop of Boston.This philosophical error,mixing up things unknown as being known, has become the foundation for creating a new non exclusivist ecclesiology, or the New Theology as it is called.

It reflects the thinking at Vatican Council II of some or many of the cardinals who assumed unknown cases of being saved in invincible ignorance were known exceptions to the centuries-old interpretation of extra ecclesiam nulla salus(EENS).This is not the work of the Holy Spirit but human error.This has to be explained to the cardinals and bishops at the Vatican(CDF).
The original confusion over what is explicit or implicit, objective or hypothetical in 1949-Rome and Boston, is carried over into Vatican Council II.At the Council they made an error when they mistook invincible ignorance as being an exception to Feeneyite EENS.The error is there in Lumen Gentium 14(see the tags on the right hand margin).
So in principle they confused what is hypothetical as not being hypothetical and this mistake is repeated by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Vatican.1
So Cardinal Ratzinger  in 1065 and later and  Cardinal Luiz Ladaria s.j, the Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith today, interpret Lumen Gentium 14( those who know and those who do not know), Lumen Gentium 16( invincible ignorance/good conscience), Lumen Gentium 8( elements of sanctification and truth/subsist it) etc  as referring to known cases visible examples of salvation outside the Church.If they were no known they would not be exceptions.
Now what if we avoid this error? Can we change the interpretation of Lumen Gentium 14, for example?

Yes!
We can easily re-interpret Lumen Gentium 14 as referring to a hypothetical and not objective case.This is something obvious. It cannot be a known person saved.Those who are saved are visible only to God.A known person saved in invincible ignorance would only be known to God.He or she would be unknown to us and an unknown and invisible person cannot be an exception to the dogma EENS and the old exclusivist ecclesiology of the Catholic Church.So we simply assume Lumen Gentium 14 refers to a hypothetical case, a theoretical possibility known only to God, speculation with good will.
Lumen Gentium 14 then becomes a non- issue,as done LG 16,UR etc.With reference to EENS and the past ecclesiology of the Church it is a 'zero case'.
We avoid the the magisterial error by making this simple change.

The Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faitnh has to be shown that Vatican Council II is not a rupture with the exclusivist ecclesiology on salvation.Cardinal Ladaria made a mistake in two theological papers of the International Theological Commission. It was the Letter of the Holy Office 1949 and the Archbishop of Boston and the Jesuits who made the factual mistake and not Fr. Leonard Feeney.
Cardinal Ladaria, Archbishop Pozzo and Archbishop Di Noia are still using the false premise i.e unknown people are known exceptions to the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus which Pope Pius XII called an ' infallible teaching'.
During the Vatican-SSPX Doctrinal talks during the pontificate of Pope Benedict, they were not corrected by the SSPX side led by Fr.Jean Marie Gleize who also uses the false premise to interpret the Council.
This error has spread throughout the Catholic Church and it is like the Arian heresy of the past.2  The mistake is being taught at the Catholic universities and seminaries throughout the world. 3

There is an in principle error in the Vatican Council II text : Does the SSPX have to accept it for canonical status?
 
We now know that there was an objective error in the Letter of the Holy Office 1949 and it was repeated in Vatican Council II.Does the SSPX have to accept it?
Cardinal Ratzinger as Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith(CDF)approved it.He wanted the SSPX to ignore it and sign the doctrinal preamble.He never acknowledged that mentioning the baptism of desire(BOD), baptism of blood(BOB) and invincible ignorance(I.I) as being known people saved outside the Church was a mistake.Since BOD,BOB and I.I  can never be known to us humans  and since they are unknown in our reality they cannot be exceptions to the traditional interpretation of the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus(EENS-premise free) and the old exclusivist ecclesiology of the Catholic Church.
It is only because he assumed that BOD, BOB and I.I referred to known people that they become relevant to EENS. No pope or Catechism stated before Pius XII that these are visible and known people saved outside the Church.
So Cardinal Ratzinger's inference was wrong.It was a philosophical mistake. A rupture between faith and reason.
He approved the Letter of the Holy Office 1949 as did Pope Pius XII and Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre.It was approved by cardinals at Vatican Council II.The excommunication of Fr. Leonard Feeney was still not lifted in 1965.

So for many of them the understanding was that there are known exceptions in BOD, BOB and I.I to EENS.
This was a mistake.
It was a mistake in 1949 and it was repeated in Lumen Gentium 14 which suggests only those who 'know'; who are not in invincible ignorance, need to enter the Church to avoid Hell.
So Vatican Council II at Lumen Gentium 14 is Christological and not with an exclusivist ecclesiology.Not every one needed to enter the Church but only those who know was the new doctrine.It was Jesus without the necessity of the Church. This was how Cardinal Ratzinger wrongly interpreted it.

Like in 1949, Vatican Council II assumes hypothetical cases are not hypothetical and instead they are explicit exceptions to the dogma EENS and the past exlusivist ecclesiology of the Catholic Church.
This is an in principle error in the Council -text.

Since in principle it is assumed hypothetical cases are relevant to EENS.
The Council Fathers mention LG 16, LG 14,LG 8, UR 3, NA 2, GS 22, AG 11, AG 7 etc as if they are relevant and exceptions to the past ecclesiology of the Church. This is how Pope Benedict, the CDF and the SSPX interpret these references.
This is a flaw in the Council.

IT IS A MEDITATION ON HELL
It contains in it, after the Preparatory Prayer and two Preludes, five Points and one Colloquy:
Prayer. Let the Preparatory Prayer be the usual one.
First Prelude. The first Prelude is the composition, which is here to see with the sight of the imagination the length, breadth and depth of Hell.
Second Prelude. The second, to ask for what I want: it will be here to ask for interior sense of the pain which the damned suffer, in order that, if, through my faults, I should forget the love of the Eternal Lord, at least the fear of the pains may help me not to come into sin.
First Point. The first Point will be to see with the sight of the imagination the great fires, and the souls as in bodies of fire.
Second Point. The second, to hear with the ears wailings, howlings, cries, blasphemies against Christ our Lord and against all His Saints.
Third Point. The third, to smell with the smell smoke, sulphur, dregs and putrid things.
