Piazza Spagna - mission

About two hours back I was at Piazza Spagna.Just happened to be there. There was no enthusiasm to go to the piazza as in the past when other popes were there. That beautiful statue for me was a sign of mission. I remembered the prayer at the Legion of Mary meeting,'Who is she who cometh forth fair as the moon bright as the sun terrible as an enemy in battle array'. This is the image of Our Lady for me at Piazza Spagna. And I spontaneously pray this prayer when I am there. It is an image of Our Lady never resting  but always fighting against Satan for us.Never tired.

So when I heard someone among the crowd say the pope was visiting the Basilica of St. Andrea della Fratte I was disappointed. Next month there is to be a syncretistic inter faith prayer meeting at this Basilica where the Jew Alphonse Ratisbonne converted to the Catholic Faith. He did not just become a Christian as Pope Francis is reported to have said ( Vatican Radio). He became a Catholic. He believed outside the Church there is no salvation. He saw the beauty and importance of the Catholic Faith for salvation. Our Lady showed him all this in a flash. He realized the importance of mission. He wanted non Catholics to know this truth not out of superiority or arrogance but love for their eternal souls.

He was also the founder of a missionary congregation which was dismantled with the new theology, which says there is known salvation outside the Church and so there should not be traditional mission. Unknown cases of the baptism of desire are known examples of salvation outside the Church was the new theology contradicting the past exclusivist ecclesiology of Alphonse Ratsibonne.

Mission and conversion was not on the mind of the pope in front of the statue.Vatican Radio reports:
Surrounded by crowds of pilgrims, tourists and local Roman residents, the Pope recited a specially-composed Prayer to Our Lady in which he asked her, among other things, to help us “rid ourselves of all pride and arrogance and to recognize ourselves for what we really are: small and poor sinners” – but always Mary’s children.1
The Jewish Left rabbis had praised Pope Benedict for  agreeing to be just another Christian at an inter faith meetings attended by many representatives of the Chief Rabbinate of Israel, including those in Italy. Perhaps this is what the pope meant. To 'recognise ourself' for what they want us to think we are.
Alphonse Ratsibonne did not only evangelise with a testimony of his life, he had traditional doctrines on faith and exclusive salvation to proclaim. He had something to say.
He did not consider the Catholic Church another small Christian sect. But Ratisbonne's theology for the pope and the Masons would be 'triumphalism'.
I am thinking of Pope John Paul who went to India, since he was blocked from going to China, and appealed to all to convert into the Catholic Church for salvation. He read out his Ecclesia di Eucarestia there.
He actually called for conversion into the Catholic Church and the local Hindu nationalist groups began to protest after he left.
'recognize ourselves for what we really are: small and poor sinners'
'Who is she that cometh forth fair as the moon bright as the sun terrible as an army in battle array. O Mary conceived without sin pray for us who have recourse to thee and especially pray for Masons and the enemies of the Church'.-Lionel Andrades

Syncretistic prayer vigil to conclude 175th anniversay of Our Lady's apparition to Alphonse Ratisbonne

Unlike St.Francis Xavier it is outside the Church there is known salvation for Fr.John Zuhlsdorf.

To produce great art and saints we need again the foundry of the Holy Mass to be restored and fired again.  This is why Summorum Pontificum is so important for our future.  Through the expanded use of the traditional Roman Rite – which forged saints like Ignatius and Francis Xavier – we will see the impurities of the newer Rite fall away like slag, as tradition corrects it.  As our sacred liturgical worship is purified and raised up, the whole of the life of the Church in every sphere will, too, be purified and raised up.  For art and saints to bloom, we need to rekindle the sacred liturgical bloomery.-Fr.Joh Zuhlsdorf , Relics of St. Francis Xavier to go on tour in….

Lionel:
This is false.
When St.Francis Xavier offered the Traditional Latin Mass he did not assume invisible cases of the baptism of desire(NOD),baptism of blood(BOB) and being saved in invincible ignorance(I.I) are visible examples of salvation outside the Church and so are visible exceptions to all needing to be in incorporated into the Church for salvation. It was outside the Church there is no salvation for him and not outside the Church there is known salvation.
When Fr.John Zuhlsdorf offers the Traditional Latin Mass he assumes, like the liberal bishops and priests, that invisible cases of the baptism of desire(BOD),baptism of blood(BOB) and being saved in invincible ignorance(I.I) are visible examples of salvation outside the Church and so are visible exceptions to all needing to be in incorporated into the Church for salvation.Unlike St.Francis Xavier it is outside the Church there is known salvation for Fr.John Zuhlsdorf. This is how he interprets Vatican Council II and the Catechism of the Catholic Church (1994).
When I attend Mass in English, Italian or Latin I do not use the false premise the traditionalists use in general at the Tridentine Rite Mass.I am waiting to see the new ecclesiology at the Tridentine Rite Mass 'fall away like slag, as tradition corrects it'.
'For art and saints to bloom, we need to rekindle the sacred liturgical bloomery' without the false premise and conclusion which is the new ecclesiology of Fr. Zuhlsdorf at the old Mass.-Lionel Andrades

Pope Benedict's entire false theology is pegged on there being known salvation outside the Church. When in reality we do not know any such case

Pope Benedict did not want to be a martyr. In a subtle way with theology he changed the Catholic Church's teaching on mission. He used a false premise to create a new theology. His entire false theology is pegged on there being known salvation outside the Church. When in reality we do not know any such case.Theoretical possibilities for him were de facto exceptions to the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus (EENS).This was already a mistake in the Letter of the Holy Office 1949.He did not correct it at Vatican Council II and neither after Vatican Council II when he was the Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.
Now Catholics use the false premise to reject the traditional understanding of mission.
Yesterday a traditionalist blogger asked me what about the Dismas, the Good Thief on the Cross.I told her that we do not know of any Dismas in 2017.She is using the reasoning of Pope Benedict and the 1949-Letter.Theoretical possibilities are examples of known salvation outside the Church. They are made exceptions to the dogma EENS.
In theory if there was a Dismas in our times who was saved he would only be known to God.Since the case would not be known to any one we can consider it an exception to the teaching on all needing to be members of the Church for salvation.Dismas in 2017 is not an exception. St.Emerentiana in 2017 is not an exception to EENS.The baptism of desire and being saved in invincible ignorance are not exceptions to EENS.
Then it is said that the popes and saints in the past had mentioned the baptism of desire.Again, they did not state that BOD refers to known people saved outside the Church. They did not state that it was a reference to visible instead of invisible cases. This is the wrong inference made by the liberal theologians including Cardinal Ratzinger.
Then they say that Fr.Leonard Feeney was disciplined for holding the strict interpretation of EENS.I agree that Cardinal Cushing made a mistake.Invisible baptism of desire was wrongly assumed to be a visible exception to the dogma EENS.Then Fr.Karl Rahner placed the 1949 Letter with the objective error, in the Denzinger. It is now considered magisterial by many.
So when in March 2016 Pope Benedict said that Vatican Council II suggests there is known salvation outside the Church for me this is the result of false reasoning. For me there is no known salvation outside the Church defacto and dejure, in reality and in theory.
Let me reiterate that I believe in the traditional teachings of the Catholic Church based on the past ecclesiology and I do not reject Vatican Council II. Instead I interpret Vatican Council II as not saying there is known salvation outside the Church.1
So when we read Vatican Council II it is important to read it without the 'double meaning'.Do not use the  ambigous approach, in which the passages appear for and against orthodoxy. This is a sign that you are mixing up what is invisible as being visible, hypothetical as being concrete, unknown as being known. This would be the false reasoning of Pope Benedict. He did not want to become a martyr. So he left you in ignorance.

This is not an academic issue of the past but has a direct bearing on how we interpret Vatican Council II today I was telling the traditionalist blogger.Remember-for us humans there can no no known salvation outside the Church.
