St. Robert Bellarmine On Traditional Catholic Hell

St. Robert Bellarmine On Traditional Catholic Hell

The Latin Mass Missal says this about St. Robert Bellarmine.
“St. Robert Bellarmine was famous through out Europe as a theologian and as a strenuous defender of the Catholic Faith in controversy with protestants.  He joined the Society of Jesus, and was later made Cardinal and Archbishop of Capua.  His numerous writings include works of devotion and instruction, as well as of controversy.  He died A.D. 1621, and was canonized and declared Doctor of the Church in 1931.”
His scriptural dissertation on hell is worth all the time in the world to read it.
wpid-photo-20140510195727It remains for us to consider the justice that God exercises by punishing sinners in the deepest abyss of Hell. If we do this carefully and attentively, we will understand how true are the words of the Apostle: “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God” (Heb 10:31) …
Regarding the present life, Isaiah says: “In the acceptable time I have heard you, and the day of salvation I have helped you (Is 49:8). Explaining this in his Second Letter to the Corinthians, the Apostle says: “Behold, now is the acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation” (2 Cor 6:2).
As for the future time that will come after this life, Zephaniah exclaims, “That day is a day of wrath, a day of tribulation and anguish, a day of calamity and misery, a day of darkness and obscurity, a day of clouds and whirlwinds, a day of trumpets and alarm” (Zep1:15-16). Not only all sins will be punished, but they will be punished with horrendous and dreadful torments, which will be so massive that now they can hardly be imagined by men.
Just as “no eye has seen, nor ear has heard nor has entered into human heart that what God had prepared for those who love Him” (Is 64:4; 1 Cor 2:9), so also no human eye has seen nor ear heard nor has it entered into the heart of man what God had prepared for His enemies.
E060_Hell4Indeed, the punishment of sinners in Hell will be many and complete, that is, unmixed with any consolations, and, what infinitely increases their misery, they will be everlasting.
They will be many, I say, because each of the faculties of the soul and each of the five senses of the body will have its torments.
Weigh the words of this sentence of the Supreme Judge that is found in the Gospel, “Depart from me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire” (Mt 25:41).
Depart from Me,” he says, that is, move away from the fellowship of the blessed, remain deprived forever of the vision of God, which is the highest and essential happiness and ultimate end for which you were created.
Accursed ones,” that is, cherish no further hope for any kind of blessing; you are deprived of any life of grace, any hope of salvation; the water of wisdom will no more rain upon you, nor the dew of good inspirations. No longer will the ray of celestial light enlighten you, nor will the grace of repentance sprout in you, nor the flower of charity nor the fruit of good works. He who comes from on High (Lk 1:78) will never again visit you from that moment on; you will lack, not only spiritual goods but also material ones, not only eternal benefits but also temporal ones. For you there will be no riches, no pleasures, no consolation, but you will be like the fig tree that I cursed, which immediately dried up, roots and all (Mt 21:19).
He says, “Into the fire,” that is, into the furnace of blazing and inextinguishable fire which will take hold not of one member, but of all your members at the same time and burn them with the sharpest pain.
Everlasting,” that is, into the fire which does not need to be fed with wood to keep burning forever, but is whipped up by the breath of Almighty God so that as your guilt will never be destroyed, so there will never be an end to your punishment.
Rightly then does the prophet Isaiah exclaim, “Which of you can dwell inside a devouring fire? Which of you can dwell amidst the eternal flames?” (Is 33:14) By this he says that absolutely no one can support that fire patiently, but the damned will be forced against their will to bear it in impatience, anger and despair.
H095_hell2He adds: “Their worm shall not die, and their fire shall not be quenched” (Is 66:24). These words are repeated more than once by Our Lord in St. Mark’s Gospel (Mk 9:43, 45, 47). Their remorse of the conscience will increase with the memory of the times when the sinners, had they wanted, could have escaped those punishments with a little effort and enjoyed the everlasting joys of Paradise.
No one should think that the damned ones can find a little relief by walking about and changing their places. Hear what the Lord Himself says: “Bind his hands and feet, and cast him forth into the darkness outside where there will be weeping and the gnashing of teeth” (Mt 22:13).
Therefore, those wretches, bound hand and foot by eternal chains, will lie forever in the same place, deprived of the light of the sun, moon and stars, scorched by burning fire, weeping and lamenting and gnashing their teeth in their fury and despair.
Those who will be thrust down into that place full of horror will suffer not only the most terrible pain in the eternal fire, but also the absolute privation of all things, as well as shame and disgrace full of acute embarrassment and confusion. Indeed, in a flash they will lose their palaces, fields, vineyards, flocks, oxen, clothing, as well as their gold, silver and precious gems, and will be reduced to such destitution that the rich banqueter will desire and beg for a drop of cold water, but will not be heard (Lk 16:24-26). …
H095_HellIf what we have said about the loss of all goods, both heavenly and earthly, and about the bitter pains, ignominy and shame, were to have an end or at least were mixed with some sort of consolation or relief, as it happens with all the miseries of this life, then they might be considered tolerable in some way. However, it is absolutely certain and beyond any doubt that, just as the happiness of the blessed will be perpetual and without any afflictions, so the unhappiness of the damned will last forever without any relief.
Those who do not make every effort to attain to the Kingdom of Heaven and eternal happiness, regardless of any trials and dangers and shame and death, which the Apostle calls light and passing (2 Cor 4”17), must indeed be blind men and fools.
Copy this and give it out to your family and friends you love.
“Oh my Jesus, save us from the fire of hell, lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of thy mercy.”

About a “meeting” between the Pope and Bishop Fellay

About a “meeting” between the Pope and Bishop Fellay : DICI news

16-05-2014
On May 10, 2014, the English-speaking blog Rorate Caeli published under the pseudonym “Adfero”, some “exclusive information” whose sources could not be – according to him – disclosed. This “exclusive information”, spread by the media, revealed that Bishop Bernard Fellay, Superior General of the Society of St. Pius X, met with Pope Francis. On May 11, the Roman agency I.Media published that Bp. Fellay’s two assistants, Fr. Niklaus Pfluger and Fr. Marc-Alain Nély, had attended the Pope’s private Mass.
Fathers Pfluger and Nely have never attended the Pope’s private Mass, and journalists who claim otherwise would have a hard time to indicate the day of the alleged assistance. Here are the facts:
On December 13, 2013, Bishop Fellay and his assistants went to Rome for an informal meeting at the request of the Ecclesia Dei Commission. Following this interview, the Secretary of the Commission, Archbishop Guido Pozzo, invited his counterparts for lunch at St. Martha House’s dining room where they were joined by Archbishop Augustine Di Noia, Assistant Secretary of the Congregation of the Faith. It is in this large refectory that the Pope takes his daily meals, away from other guests.
Archbishop Pozzo insisted on introducing Bishop Fellay to the pope while the latter was leaving the refectory. There was a brief exchange where Pope Francis said to Bishop Fellay, according to the usual polite formula, “I’m very glad to meet you.” To this, Bishop Fellay answered that he was praying a lot, and the pope asked him to pray for him. Such was the “meeting” that lasted a few seconds.
In the interview he gave to Le Rocher (April-May 2014), Bishop Fellay answered the following question: Has Rome made an official approach to renew contact with you since the election of Pope Francis? – “Rome made a ‘non-official’ approach to renew contact with us, but nothing more, and I have not asked for an audience as I did after Benedict XVI’s election. For me, things at present are very simple: we stay as we are. Some concluded from my close contact with Rome in 2012 that I regard the necessity of a canonical recognition as a supreme principle. Preserving the Faith and our traditional Catholic identity is essential and remains our first principle.”

Husband of 8-Month-Pregnant Christian Woman Sentenced to Death for Rejecting Islam Feels Powerless

Husband of 8-Month-Pregnant Christian Woman Sentenced to Death for Rejecting Islam Feels Powerless

by Steven Ertelt | Washington, DC | LifeNews.com | 5/16/14
The husband of the 8-month-pregnant Christian woman sentenced to death in Sudan for rejecting Islam says in a new interview he feels powerless to help his wife. UPDATE: According to ABC News, “So far the only concession granted by the Islamic court is to wait until Ishag gives birth before carrying out the sentence.”
The woman, Meriam Yehya Ibrahim, is reported to be eight months pregnant. She was convicted under the Islamist-run government of apostasy (the crime of renouncing or insulting Islam) punishable by death in some Muslim-majority countries.  According to news reports, lawyers representing her told Amnesty International that religious clerics in court had asked the 27-year-old Thursday if she would recant her faith, but she told them: “I am a Christian.”
sudan2Hours after a Sudanese court sentenced his pregnant wife to death when she refused to recant her Christian faith, her husband told CNN he feels helpless.
“I’m so frustrated. I don’t know what to do,” Daniel Wani told CNN on Thursday. “I’m just praying.”
This week a Khartoum court convicted his wife, Meriam Yehya Ibrahim, 27, of apostasy, or the renunciation of faith. Ibrahim is Christian, her husband said. But the court considers her to be Muslim. The court also convicted her of adultery and sentenced her to 100 lashes because her marriage to a Christian man is considered void under Sharia law.
The court gave her until Thursday to recant her Christian faith — something she refused to do, according to her lawyer.
During Thursday’s sentencing hearing, a sheikh told the court “how dangerous a crime like this is to Islam and the Islamic community,” said attorney Mohamed Jar Elnabi, who’s representing Ibrahim.
“I am a Christian,” Ibrahim fired back, “and I will remain a Christian.”
Her legal team says it plans to appeal the verdict, which drew swift condemnation from human rights organizations around the world. In the meantime, Ibrahim, who is eight months’ pregnant, remains in prison with her 20-month-old son.
“She is very strong and very firm. She is very clear that she is a Christian and that she will get out one day,” Elnabi told CNN from Sudan.
The death sentence issued to a woman who refused to renounce Christianity for Islam in Sudan is an “egregious violation of basic human rights,” Congressman Chris Smith (NJ-04), Chairman of the House congressional panel that oversees U.S. policy in Africa, said yesterday.
“This is an affront to religious freedom everywhere,” Smith said. “The refusal of the government of Sudan to allow religious freedom was one of the reasons for Sudan’s long civil war. The U.S. and the rest of the international community must demand Sudan reverse this sentence immediately.”
“Mrs. Ibrahim’s willingness to stand-up for her faith—even in the face of death—is a true mark of uncommon courage and bravery,” Smith said. “This case in Sudan mirrors a similar incident 18 months ago in Nigeria in which Boko Haram shot Habila Adamu, who refused to renounce Christianity just like Mrs. Ibrahim.”
Adamu, shot in the head and left for dead, was the only adult male Christian in his village to survive that November 2012 attack. He lived to travel to Washington to give riveting testimony before a congressional hearing Smith held in November 2013: “They asked me, ‘Are you ready to die as a Christian?’ he testified, “and I told them, ‘I am ready,’ but before I closed my mouth, they have fired.”
Smith has held a number of hearings on the Sudanese conflict, including a Feb. 26 hearing, “U.S. Policy Toward Sudan and South Sudan,” by the House Africa, Global Health, Global Human Rights, and International Organizations Subcommittee. It featured lead witness Donald Booth, Special Envoy to Sudan and South Sudan from the U.S. State Department, as well as the human rights organizations the Enough Project, Transatlantic Legislative Group on Counter Terrorism and Amnesty International .

Dialogue with the MHFM 2

MHFM
Who are you? You are a liar.
The truth is not in you. If you post things about our correspondence, perhaps you should mention that we challenged you to a debate and you refused.
Lionel:
I do not use the telephone system. It's quite a few years now as such.It is a help spiritually.
I have numerous times posted reports on my blog about a fundamental error in your interpretation of magisterial texts including Vatican Council II. They are specific errors. You have never addressed them.Perhaps you both still do not understand what I am saying.

You write on your website:
It’s that in addition to the dogmatic arguments (and the key question) which destroy ‘baptism of desire’, it’s important not to forget about the teaching of papal encyclicals to the entire Church in the modern period. They are thoroughly and completely on our side.(Lionel: They do not claim that the baptism of desire is visible to us and so is relevant or an exception to extra ecclesiam nulla salus)
I repeat: They do not claim that the baptism of desire is visible to us and so is relevant or an exception to extra ecclesiam nulla salus.
I repeat: They do not claim that the baptism of desire is visible to us and so is relevant or an exception to extra ecclesiam nulla salus.

I repeat: They do not claim that the baptism of desire is visible to us and so is relevant or an exception to extra ecclesiam nulla salus.

When will you address this point ? Do you understand what I am saying Peter and Michael ? I am not referring to theology.l am not referring to Catholic doctrine primarily.l am saying how can you claim to see the deceased now in Heaven and then assume these cases are explicit exceptions to extra ecclesiam nulla salus ( and so you reject the baptism of desire).
Where is the Church document which states that the baptism of desire is explicit for us human beings?
Where is the Church document which states that the baptism of desire is objectively visible and so is an exception to the traditional teaching on salvation ?
Why cannot we dialogue on just this one point ?
MHFM:
Also, you don’t affirm Tradition. You reject Tradition and Catholic dogma. You don’t see a contradiction between Vatican II and Catholic teaching because you are a complete liar.
Lionel:
We can assume there is an explicit for us, visible in the flesh baptism of desire or we can assume BOD is invisible for us.
We can assume that invincible ignorance (LG 16) and being saved with 'a ray of the Truth' (NA 2) refer to cases visible to us in 2014 or we can assume that they are visible only to God.
We can infer that Vatican Council II (LG 16,NA 2 etc) contradicts extra ecclesiam nulla salus or we can reason that since the deceased-saved are not visible to us, Vatican Council II (LG 16,NA 2 etc) does not contradict extra ecclesiam nulla salus.
If I infer that the deceased-saved (NA 2 etc) are visible on earth then Vatican Council II CONTRADICTS Church teaching. If I infer that the deceased-saved are not invisible to us and so are not explicit exceptions to any thing, then Vatican Council II DOES NOT CONTRADICT Church teaching.
I have been repeating the above point numerous times in my posts to you. There is always an alternative. There is a rational and and irrational interpretation. One is with a an inference and the other is without it.
MHFM
To give just one example of how Vatican II contradicts Catholic dogma: Vatican II teaches that Protestants and schismatics who dissent from the rule of Catholic faith are in the Body of Christ. The Catholic Church teaches the opposite. That’s a heresy in Vatican II, as the first video below proves.
Lionel:
Please be specific.
If you are referring to Unitatitis Redintigratio 3 being saved in 'imperfect communion with the Church' then UR 3 contradicts extra ecclesiam nulla salus if these cases are explicit for us, objectively visible, seen on earth and so they become exceptions.Yes then they contradict the traditional teaching. If these cases of deceased saved in imperfect communion with the Church are invisible for you on earth then they do not contradict extra ecclesiam nulla salus. They are not exceptions.
For me these cases are invisible. I cannot name any such case in 2014. So they are not exceptions to the traditional teaching which says all need faith and baptism(AG 7) for salvation.
MHFM
Lionel:
In the videos above you have made the error of assuming that the deceased-saved are visible in the flesh on earth and so are exceptions to Tradition. It is an objective error. It is a also a fundamental mistake in your apologetics.
