The issue is Feeneyism. Liberals and alleged traditionalists do not want to be traditional Feeneyites in theology and doctrine. Fr.Leonard Feeney was correct when he said there are no exceptions to EENS. How can unknown cases of the baptism of desire and invincible ignorancde be practical exceptions to EENS ? They cannot. This is common sense. How can an invisible case of someone saved with the baptism of blood and without the baptism of water, be a visible example, for us human beings, of salvation outside the Church ?
