Invisible persons cannot be an exception on earth to Fr.Leonard Feeney saying every one needs the baptism of water for salvation

Just so we're clear, Lionel, Father Feeney and his group got into trouble because they claimed, 1) the catechetical materials that were being used in the Diocese of Boston (namely, the Baltimore Catechism) contained formal heresy, and 2) that the Bishop of Boston was a formal heretic within the Catholic Church.

Lionel:
Any one who says that the baptism of desire is visible to us and is an exception to extra ecclesiam nulla salus is irrational.Even if a cardinal says that he can see case of the dead-saved with the baptism of desire it would be fantasy.
To claim there are visible exceptions to the defined dogma, to claim there is salvation outside the Church is heresy!
This was the heresy of the cardinal who issued the Letter of the Holy Office 1949, the Archbishop of Boston who approved it and the Holy Office which condoned it.This was public heresy. It was a major break in Catholic teaching.

You have that problem, though, with the Roman Martyrology, which, for centuries on end, even with its various corrections, deletions, additions, and other modifications, saying that "so and so died as a catechumen".  The Catholic Church has always taught that catechumens are unbaptized folks who are awaiting and preparing for the Sacrament of Baptism.  Don't you see a problem here?

I accept implicit baptism of desire according to Vatican Council II, Mystici Corporis etc.

To claim there are visible exceptions to the defined dogma is heresy. It is irrational and heretical to claim there is salvation outside the Church. This was the heresy of the cardinal who issued the Letter of the Holy Office 1949, the Archbishop of Boston who approved it and the Holy Office which condoned it.This was public heresy. It was a major break in Catholic teaching.

As for the Holy Office Letter, it states,
Now, among those things which the Church has always preached and will never cease to preach is contained also that infallible statement by which we are taught that there is no salvation outside the Church.
I understand that, from your perspective, they are teaching visible salvation outside of the Catholic Church, but from their perspective, they are not.

Lionel:
They are sayng that the baptism of desire is an exception to the centuries old interpretation of extra ecclesiam nulla salus.
So from their perspective the baptism of  desire is visible, objectively seen for it to be an exception.
For me the baptism of desire is always implicit, a possibility a hypothetical case.So it is not an exception to the literal interpretation of Fr.Leonard Feeney.

As for me, I am going to accept their words over your interpretation of their words.
Lionel:
For them the baptism of desire is an exception since it is allegedly visible. It is personally  known. An exception has to be visible and known. So you are saying that you know some person in 2014 saved with the baptism of desire. This person whom you can see and shake hands with, is a visible exception to the traditional interpretation of Fr.Leonard Feeney !!!
I shall not accept the irrationality of the Letter of the Holy Office but I shall accept the baptism of desire according to Vatican Council II, Mystici Corporis etc which do not state that the baptism of desire and being saved in invincible ignorance  are visible for us.There is no inference in the text. The text does not state that there is  an exception to extra ecclesiam nulla salus.

There is no inference for me. No false premise of the visible-dead.Vatican Council II does not state that there is an exception to the interpretation of Fr.Leonard Feeney.I do not make the false inference. You do.

Even if there were many cases of persons saved with the baptism of desire ( without the baptism of water) it would be irrelevant to extra ecclesiam nulla salus

Fact is that the Roman Martyrology lists individuals who died as catechumens, which the Church has always understood as being individuals who died without sacramental Baptism, at least to a moral certitude.  This is much a historical fact as it is a theological one.  You're free to believe (and even hope) that the One and Triune God miraculously provided sacramental Baptism to each of them but such is your theological opinion.  It has always been the "common opinion" of the theologians that there are individuals in Paradise who lack the character of sacramental Baptism and that the Roman Martyrology would provide a visible example/exception to sacramental Baptism not only known to God but to we men, also.

Lionel:
For me the baptism of desire is implicit, invisible and not known on earth. So even if there were many cases of persons saved with the baptism of desire ( without the baptism of water) it would be irrelevant to the literal interpretation of extra ecclesiam nulla salus. It would not be an exception.

For you the baptism of desire is explicit, visible in the present times. This
is what you infer.Since you consider the baptism of desire an exception to
the interpretation of Fr.Leonard Feeney.

So if St.Emerentiana or some other saint according to the Roman Martyrology died and went to Heaven without the baptism of water is an implicit, invisible case in 2014. So it cannot be an exception or relevant to the dogma, Catechism and Vatican Council II  which says all need the baptism of water for salvation. These three Church documents do not state that the baptism of desire is visible in the flesh or an exception to extra ecclesiam nulla salus.

Since the baptism of desire is invisible for me it does not contradict the literal interpretation of Fr.Leonard Feeney. This was the error of the Letter of the Holy Office which inferred that there was not implicit for us baptism of desire.

The Holy Office wrongly assumed that the baptism of desire was explicit for us and so an exception to the interpretation of Fr.Leonard Feeney. In other words there was salvation outside the Church for the Holy Office and the Archbishop and Jesuits at Boston. They made a mistake. It was a factual error.

We do not know any potential St.Emerentiana or St.Victor so there is only one way of salvation in the Catholic Church in 2014

All who are in Heaven are there with the baptism of water.
For salvation all need faith and baptism for salvation(Ad Gentes 7, Vatican Council ). There are no exceptions. De facto there are no exceptions.

Even this is debatable:
January 23: At Rome, St. Emerentiana, Virgin and Martyr, who was stoned by the heathen while still a catechumen, when she was praying at the tomb of St. Agnes, whose foster-sister she was.

April 12: At Braga, in Portugal, St. Victor, Martyr, who, while still yet a catechumen, refused to worship an idol, and confessed Christ Jesus with great constancy, and so after many torments, he merited to be baptized in his own blood, his head being cut off.

Lionel:
All who are in Heaven are there with the baptism of water.
If there is someone there without the baptism of water it would be known  only to God.
St.Francis Xavier tells us that there were persons who had died. They were  sent back to earth by God, only to be baptized with water.
We don't know if it was as such with St.Emerentiana and St.Victor were also  one of them.
However the issue is : do every one in 2014 need Catholic Faith and the  baptism of water for salvation? Every one with no exceptions?
The answer is yes!.
Since you do not know any potential St.Emerentiana or St.Victor.If there was such a case it would be known only to God.
So there is only one way of salvation in the Catholic Church in 2014. It is not the baptism of desire and baptism of blood but the baptism of water only given to adults with Catholic Faith. In 2014 there is no known salvation  outside the Church.

Catechism of the Catholic Church affirms exclusive salvation in the Catholic Church : no contradiction

Catherine of Siena.jpgSt. Catherine of Sienna (14th Century)
Dialogue of St. Catherine: Baptisms: "I wished thee to see the secret  of the Heart, showing it to thee open, so that you mightest see how much more I loved than I could show thee by finite pain. I poured from it Blood and Water, to show thee the baptism of water which is received in virtue of the Blood. I also showed the baptism of love
in two ways, first in those who are baptized in their blood shed for  Me which has virtue through My Blood, even if they have not been  able to have Holy Baptism, and also those who are baptized in fire,  not being able to have Holy Baptism, but desiring it with the affection of love. There is no baptism of desire without the Blood,  because Blood is steeped in and kneaded with the fire of Divine  charity, because through love was it shed. There is yet another way  by which the soul receives the baptism of Blood, speaking, as it
were, under a figure, and this way the Divine charity provided,  knowing the infirmity and fragility of an, through which he offends,  not that he is obliged, through his fragility and infirmity, to commit sin, unless he wish to do so; by falling, as he will, into the guild of
mortal sin, by which he loses the grace which he drew from Holy  Baptism in virtue of the Blood, it was necessary to leave a continual  baptism of blood. This the Divine charity provided in the Sacrament  of Holy Confession, the soul receiving the Baptism of blood, with contrition of heart, confessing, when able, to My ministers, who hold the keys of the Blood, sprinkling It, in absolution, upon the face of the soul. But if the soul is unable to confess, contrition of  heart is sufficient for this baptism, the hand of My clemency giving
you the fruit of this precious Blood... Thou seest then that these Baptisms, which you should all receive until the last moment, are continual, and though My works, that is the pains of the Cross  were finite, the fruit of them which you receive in Baptism, through Me, are infinite...".

Lionel:

All who are in Heaven are there with the baptism of water.
For salvation all need faith and baptism for salvation (Ad Gentes 7, Vatican Council ). There are no exceptions. De facto there are no exceptions.
If a person is saved with the baptism of desire or with the baptism of blood, this would be known only to God.So there is not a single case as such in 2014 for us.
This does not rule out implicit for us baptism of desire and baptism of blood. It rules out explicit for us baptism of desire and baptism of blood.
So there is no contradiction with the traditonal teaching: all need faith and baptism for salvation ( AG 7) and the Church knows of no means to eternal beatitude other than the baptism of water(Catechism of the Catholic Church 1257)
1257 The Lord himself affirms that Baptism is necessary for salvation. He  also commands his disciples to proclaim the Gospel to all nations and to baptize them. Baptism is necessary for salvation for those to whom the Gospel has been proclaimed and who have had the possibility of asking for this sacrament. The Church does not know of any means other than Baptism that assures entry into eternal
beatitude; this is why she takes care not to neglect the mission she has   received from the Lord to see that all who can be baptized are "reborn of water and the Spirit." God has bound salvation to the sacrament of Baptism, but he himself is not bound by his sacraments.-Catechism of the Catholic
Church.
Note: 'God has bound salvation to the sacrament of Baptism, but he himself is not bound by his sacraments 'refers to implicit for us baptism of desire and blood.
Invisible for us baptism of desire and blood do not  contradict the dogma on exclusive salvation. Neither  do they contradict the Principle of Non Contradiction.

If someone has justification God will provide the means for the baptism of water

Q. Are the souls of those who die in the state of justification saved, if
they have not received Baptism of Water?

A. No. They are not saved.

GOD Will Always Provide

Lionel:
All need the baptism of water for salvation in the present times.(2014). There are no known  exceptions.
If someone has justification God will provide the means for the baptism of water. Every one who is in Heaven is there with the baptism of water and Catholic Faith and without mortal sin.

Ten Ways to Fall in Love with the Eucharist

Ten Ways to Fall in Love with the Eucharist

The saints are the mad-lovers of Jesus; they were on earth and now are in heaven loving God for all eternity. In this article, we will give a list of what some saints have said in an excess of love for the most Holy Eucharist. Then we will give ten keys to unlock the treasure-case of gems to love the Eucharist more in our lives! Let us read and meditate on the fire of the saints and the Eucharist:
  • “Holy Communion is the shortest and the safest way to Heaven.” (St. Pius X)
  • “If the angels could be jealous of men, they would be for one reason: Holy Communion.” (St. Maximilian Kolbe)
  • “In one day the Eucharist will make you produce more for the glory of God than a whole lifetime without it.” (St. Peter Julian Eymard)
  • “How I love the feasts!… I especially loved the processions in honor of the Blessed Sacrament. What a joy it was for me to throw flowers beneath the feet of God!… I was never so happy as when I saw my roses touch the sacred Monstrance.” (St. Therese the Little Flower)
  • “When you look at the Crucifix, you understand how much Jesus loved you then. When you look at the Sacred Host you understand how much Jesus loves you now.” (Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta)
  • “From the Eucharist comes strength to live the Christian life and zeal to share that life with others.” (St. John Paul II)
  • “This is the bread of everlasting life which supports the substance of your soul.” (St. Ambrose)
  • “The longer you stay away from Communion, the more your soul will be weak, and in the end you will become dangerously indifferent.” (St. John Bosco)
  • “The Eucharist is the consummation of the whole spiritual life.” (St. Thomas Aquinas)
Now let us dive into ten golden keys that can open up the infinite treasure house of jewels so as to derive countless graces and blessings from Jesus’ greatest Gift to the entire world: Holy Mass and Holy Communion, His Body, Blood Soul and Divinity!
Faith. Beg the Lord for a greater faith in the sublime mystery of the most Holy Eucharist. Let us say with the Apostles Saint Thomas: “My Lord and my God.” Let us also so the prayer of the man of the Gospel: “Lord I believe but strengthen my faith!”
Visit. Make it a habit to visit the most Blessed Sacrament as often as is possible. Hopefully when we die Jesus will not reproach us with these words: “Whenever I see a church I stop to make a visit so that when I die the Lord will not say: “Who is it!” Friends meet to chat, talk, and enjoy each other’s company; so should we, in visiting and talking frequently to Jesus.
Spiritual Communion. Highly recommended by St. Alphonsus Liguouri as well as Pope Benedict XVI in his document “Sacramentum Caritatis” is the frequent practice of the Spiritual Communion. It can be done in a simple manner and as often as your heart desires. You can say the simple prayer: “Jesus I believe that you are truly present in the Tabernacle in your Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity. Now I cannot receive you sacramentally but come at least spiritually into my heart.” Then enter into your heart and thank, praise and love the Lord who has come spiritually into your soul. This can fan the flame of love for our Eucharistic Lord.

Read John 6. The Gospel of John chapter six has three parts: Jesus multiples the loaves, walks on water, and then He gives a sublime discourse related to the Eucharist; actually it is a Eucharistic prophecy. Best known as the “Bread of life discourse”, Jesus promises to give us the Bread of Life. Also Jesus points out in no unclear terms that our immortal salvation depends upon our eating His Body and drinking His Blood, which obviously refers to Holy Communion. Read and meditate this powerful chapter!
Fifteen Minutes. Years ago there was published a small booklet with the title “The fifteen minutes”. It is a little gem where Jesus encourages the reader to enter into simple but profound conversation with Him. Basically Jesus wants to be our Best Friend and challenges us to open up the secret mysteries of our heart to Him and only He can truly understand the inner secrets, wounds and mysteries in our heart. Read and pray through this booklet if possible in front of the Blessed Sacrament!
Holy Hour. Get into the habit of making a daily Holy Hour in front of the most Blessed Sacrament. It will transform your life if you persevere in the practice. The Great Servant of God, Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen, who made his Holy Hour faithfully for more than fifty years, called it THE HOUR OF POWER!
Adorn and Embellish Churches & the Eucharist. The woman lavished her expensive nard on the feet of Jesus; she wept and her tears came pouring forth on the feet of Jesus; finally she wiped Jesus’ feet with her hair (Lk. 7:36-50). Fulton Sheen points out that this is symbolic of the gestures of love and attention we should manifest in the way we adorn, embellish and beautify the Churches and tabernacles where Jesus abides. Known for his spirit of penance, fasting, and sacrifice, the Cure of Ars would travel long distances and expend big sums of money to purchase the best for his little Church. Why? For the simple reason that Jesus the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords abides in the tabernacle and descends from heaven in the hands of the priest in every consecrated Host. “O come let us adore Him!”
Holy Mass and Holy Communion. Of course the greatest action in the whole universe is the celebration of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. The greatest gesture any human being can accomplish is to assist at Mass and to receive Holy Communion with faith, devotion, reverence and awe but especially with a passionate love. Whenever possible, go to daily Mass. Arrive early to prepare yourself. Offer your own private intentions. Participate in Holy Mass fully, actively and consciously. Receive Holy Communion as if it were your first Holy Communion, last Holy Communion and only Holy Communion. Be exceedingly thankful for your faith in such a sublime and august mystery! Do not rush out of the Church after Mass, as if your pants were on fire! Rather, spend some time after Holy Mass to render abundant thanks to Jesus for such a sublime gift. Actually the word “Eucharist” means THANKSGIVING! What a sublime gift, free of charge. The only condition is lively faith and a heart overflowing with love for Jesus the greatest of all lovers!
A.C.T.S—Remember the four principal ends or purpose of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass—A.C.T.S… A—stands for adoration. The primary purpose of Holy Mass is to offer adoration to God the Father, by the offering of Jesus the Victim and through the power of the Holy Spirit. C—stands for contrition. Our hearts should be contrite and humble and repentant for our many sins. It is a great practice to offer our Mass and Holy Communion in reparation for our sins, the sin of our families as well as in reparation for the sins of the whole world. “For the sake of His sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.” T—stands for thanksgiving. Everything that we have in this life—with the exception of our own sins—is a pure gift from God. Therefore we should be overflowing and abounding in the thanksgiving. “With the Psalmist let us pray: “Give thanks to the Lord for He is good; his love endures forever.” S– Stands for supplication; in other words we should offer prayers of fervent intercession and petition for the many needs of the world: the world at large, the Church, the conversion of sinners, the sick, the dying, our own personal family needs, the souls in purgatory, and much more….
Eucharistic Missionary. As Mary receive Jesus in the Annunciation and promptly and quickly brought Jesus to her cousin Elizabeth, so should we bring Jesus to others and others to Jesus. This can be done in a very concrete manner by encouraging Catholic lost sheep wandering in the wilderness back to the fold. The second largest religious group in the United States as well as the Americas are non-practicing Catholics. Find the time, manner, effort and initiative to invite some lost soul back to Church. Hopefully he can make a good confession and return to the reception of Holy Communion and to the loving embrace of God the Father. All this might take place if you simply trust God and take the initiative to welcome Him back! God is so loving and good! Share the Good News to the entire world!

Thirty-three years after the six Medjugorje visionaries had their first apparition, great numbers of pilgrims gathered today to mark the anniversary. Mass was celebrated in 18 languages.
“Today, the thirty-third anniversary of the apparitions in Medjugorje, next to 100,000 faithful gathered from around the world” the regional newpaper Dnevni List, based in nearby Mostar, reports.

Fr. Marinko Sakota
On the occasion, Medjugorje parish priest Fr Marinko Sakota tells Radio Mir Medjugorje that he views the internal change experienced by
pilgrims as the most important part of the Medjugorje phenomenon.
“The most important thing is that I personally recognize Medjugorje, by praying, fasting, and going to Mass. And at the same time that prayer changes us on the inside. It is a recognition of Medjugorje’s corrrectness, and then the official Church will officially recognize all the gifts and fruits. The most important thing is that we recognize the (style of) life of Medjugorje” Fr. Marinko Sakota says.

His comments come five months after the Vatican’s international Commission on Medjugorje delivered its report to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, the contents of which have remained unknown.
On June 23, visionary Vicka Ivankovic-Mijatovic issued a rare appeal for prayers for the six Medjugorje visionaries:
“Tonight, when Our Lady comes to me, I will pray for all of you. But you remember the visionaries sometimes and say a prayer for us as well” she said, according to the Medjugorje blog site Crown of Stars.
