They know that if LG 8, LG 14, LG 16, UR 3, NA 2, Gs 22 etc are implicit the inference is traditional. There is a continuity with the past.

If LG 8, LG 16,etc are explicit in 2021, the inference is irrational and conclusion is non traditional.Then there is a rupture with EENS, Athanasius Creed, Syllabus of Errors of Pope Pius IX, the Catechism of Pope Pius X ( 24Q, 27Q) etc.

The Apostolic Letter Spiritus Domini of Pope Francis follows in the tradition of Redemptoris Missio, Dominus Iesus, Evangelii Nuntiandi and other papal documents since Paul VI.They had were written interpreting the Council with the false premise. They were all put together by interpreting Vatican Council II irrationally. The ecclesiastics had to employ a false premise and inference  to create a non traditional conclusion.

We are expected to consider this conclusion 'magisterial'.

The Motu proprio is accompanied by a letter addressed to the Prefect of the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith, Cardinal Luis Ladaria, in which Pope Francis explains the theological motivations behind his decision.

The Council interpreted with the irrational premise creates a break with Tradition. This is overlooked by the conservative Catholics. So Pope Francis repeats the same message as Pope Benedict. They are saying here that if in principle Vatican Council II ( interpreted irrationally) could change de fide teachings of the Church which supported exclusive salvation, why cannot there be an institutional change in Minor Orders and have women as altar servers ?

Pope Francis is not saying that in principle a false premise cannot be used to interpret Vatican Councl II and so there is no development of doctrine.

Similarly in the past Pope Francis and Cardinal Kasper did not say that an objective error was made in the interpretation of Vatican Council II. Instead Cardinal Kasper said that Vatican Council II( with the false premise) has changed Church ecclesiology and so he asked why cannot the Eucharist be given to the divorced and re-married. -Lionel Andrades
