From the sedevacantist, traditionalist and orthodox Catholic view Ryan Grant is a heretic, like Richard Cushing, for suggesting there are known exceptions to the thrice defined dogma on salvation- and also not being able to name these persons.
On Faithful Answers he begins his article on extra ecclesiam nulla salus by citing Phillip Gray, for whom there are 'known to him' exceptions to the dogma on salvation.(1)
This is his ideological(Left) position approved by the USCCB Doctrinal Committee and the CDF. It's the Unofficial Teaching of the Catholic Church instead of the Official Teaching.(2)
It was Richard Cushing, the Archbishop of Boston who rejected the dogma on exclusive salvation in the Catholic Church, with known exceptions, as if he could name them.
Since then this heresy, of the visible-dead exceptions to an infallible teaching is proudly shared by cardinals, bishops, priests, nuns and lay Catholic writers. It can be traced on the Vatican website of the Council for Christian Unity (Cardinal Walter Kaspar) and the International Theological Commission (Cardinal Luiz Ladaria S.J).
Ryan Grant a traditionalist has also picked it up.
So when the sedevacantists say that the Church has apostatised on outside the Church there is no salvation , this is true, partially. Since the same error of Cardinal Cushing is being made by the sedevacantists CMRI,MHFM etc. They are interpreting Vatican Council II , the Letter of the Holy Office 1949, Pope Pius XII and Pope Pius IX with the visible- dead heresy.
Faithful Answers apologists Ryan Grant and Robert Sungenis are also making the same error.(3) -Lionel Andrades
