"Međugorje is a place where my faith was born“

"Međugorje is a place where my faith was born"

date: 04.12.2015.
Marijana Zovko, pilgrim who comes to Medjugorje and music composer from Laupheim in Germany, came recently to Međugorje. Marijana  was a guest in the programme of radio "Mir“ Međugorje and she spoke about her experience. "I came to Split to participate in a spiritual - psychological seminar and I felt the desire to come to Međugorje, that I may be purified in a better way with a General Confession, so I could return home with a new strength. There is a big difference in arriving here now, in the winter time, and in the summer time. I was here last summer also for five days and it was so hard to find a peaceful moment for prayer when there were many pilgrims around. On the contrary, it is really beautiful now, peace, silence, one can meditate and it is very special", said Marijana who came to Medjugorje with her parents for the first time when she was a little girl: "I was not aware of what is happening here, but I immediately fell in love in Medjugorje and I kept coming back here. Medjugorje is a place where my faith was born, this is where I learned how to pray and to open to God and Gospa. Medjugorje is something special in my life. When one feels weak, helpless, do not give up, if you fell, raise up, Jesus is waiting for you. He is offering his hand to you. Come to the place where you can receive sacramental strength, either to Medjugorje or Marija Bistrica (Our Lady's shrine in Croatia). Come to Jesus“.

Supernatural Dreams Open Doors for Jesus in Iran

JERUSALEM, Israel -- When the world sees the barbaric acts of ISIS, there tends to be talk of either war or hopelessness and defeat. Despite the evil, some Christians say God is at work in areas where darkness seems to reign.
As ISIS conquered parts of northern Iraq and persecuted Christian minorities, the Gospel actually began to spread.
"So besides the darkness coming in, trying to get the salt and light out -- killing lives and bringing so much pain and suffering -- on the other hand, we're seeing the rise of the presence of God, worship, prayer, experiencing Jesus and people being open to the Gospel and being open to follow Him, even from Muslim background," one man named Fabian, who asked that his full name not be disclosed, told CBN News.

Supernatural Encounters
Fabian leads a house of prayer in Kurdistan. He said he's met a number of people who've had supernatural encounters with Jesus.
"People in these streets and in these refugee camps, from places where ISIS has occupied, even people from here are encountering Jesus in dreams and visions," Fabian said.
Those divine encounters are not limited to ISIS-controlled areas. It's a phenomenon happening throughout the Middle East.
CBN News met with some Iranians visiting Kurdistan who wanted to share their stories. We concealed their identities for their own protection.
"Suddenly, one of the nights when I was in my bed, I just dreamed and the Light was speaking as I'm speaking to you now," A woman we'll call "Abby" told CBN News. "It was speaking to me and calling my name verbally and saying 'Come to me. I will save you and I will rescue you.'"
"But I didn't understand, actually, how this could be. Others in the dream said, 'Come with us, please do not hesitate. Come to us and we will rescue you.' I believed in the dream, but I didn't surrender my whole life to the source of the light, which was Christ," she explained.
That decision soon followed for "Abby" and her mother.
"This year, about seven months ago, we made our own decision to follow Jesus with all our hearts," she continued.
"When we came here, they gave us an explanation about the life of Christ and the Kingdom of God according to the Gospel," she said. "Here we realized the dream that I dreamed was Jesus. He is calling us to give us salvation and to give us rest, to give us life."
CBN News asked what dangers Abby faces back in Iran.

"If people knew about my faith, I would be rejected by the people," she said. "This is a kind of social persecution. If the government knew about my faith, I would be executed or hanging in the street at once."
Being 'Reborn'
Another woman, "Barbara," began to read the New Testament.
"When I first started to read the Gospel, a power came out through the Bible to my heart," she explained. "It was just like a small rock in the middle of a sea, yes, of the sea … a power came into my life and I felt that I'm not the same person."
"I'm about to reborn and coming out from something very dead, very bad and something that happened to me is unique," she said.
Then came her dream.

"One of the nights when I went to my bed I saw, I saw Jesus," she continued. "He was talking about me in heaven -- about the Kingdom of God. When I saw Jesus, He was pointing out to me. Later He told me that I had to read the Gospel in order to strengthen my faith and be able to share my faith with my friends."
"I didn't see actually His face, but I saw His form, you know," she recalled. "He was a King and His kingdom -- or His kingship rule -- was over the whole universe and everybody was bowing down to Him. He was talking about His kingdom and I was one of those who stood before Him."
CBN News asked Barbara how she feels now.
"I feel I have a very huge, big treasure. As much as I'm giving away from it, more comes back to it," she said.
"You know Iran is a very dangerous place. If you don't think just like the others or the majority, you'd be considered as a rebel," she said. "So that means you will choose your fate or your death by your own hand."
Life-Changing Decision
"Claire" came to faith through a scripture and a friend.
"When I was reading the Bible, I couldn't ask others to give an explanation about the passage that I'm reading, but then I went to university," she said.
"During the studying at the university, I met an Armenian girl. I asked her so many questions concerning Christianity: How do they live? How do they worship? - Many things like that about the Christian life," she explained.
"She answered my questions and that introduction caused me to make my own decision," she said.

That decision changed her life.
"You know the faithful Christ brought me many blessings," Claire continued. "I cannot describe faithful Jesus in some words. But things which I cannot say in some words have happened to me."
"Whenever I'm praying and I'm lifting up my feelings in my heart to God, I do believe and I feel the hand of God touching my heart and shaking my heart," she said.
The King's Crown
A man we'll call "Dennis" also had a dream.
"In the dream, I still remember some marks on His face and that He was wearing a crown, a King's crown on His head," he recalled. "Very strong brightness came out of each part of His Body and many people were bowing down before Him."

"I still live on the memory of that dream. It's still alive in me and it's with me every day," he said. "I remember in my mind the sense that I saw in Heaven. He's showed me many different things since I believed in Jesus. But that dream became a turning point in my life."
CBN News asked if others are coming to Jesus inside Iran.
"Yes, many people are coming to Christ through a dream. You cannot imagine how Jesus is appearing to them. I experienced with my own eyes that everybody is looking for a home; looking for the truth," Dennis said.
"You know the experience that the Iranian people are passing through right now is very difficult. The only one who can change that situation is Christ Himself," he said.
"So please pray and ask the others to pray for the people of Iran to experience the power of the Resurrection," he said.

Fastest Growing Church
Iranian mullahs try to quench Christianity in their Islamic Republic. Despite those efforts, missionaries say Iran has one of the fastest growing churches in the world.
While politics and extremists rearrange the Middle East, Fabian and others say the Holy Spirit is working at a much higher level to change lives.
"The harvest is very ripe and people are desperate. They have lost everything. They are in pain. They need help and they are ready to listen and people need to know that," Fabian said.
"That, yes, there's many bad people that want to kill and destroy, but there's so much more people who are desperate for answers in life," Fabian said.
"And we, as the light and salt, we need to be here for such a time as this," he said. "To be His voice and be His Hand and bring the Gospel of the Kingdom to their lives."

Medugorje would be in conformity with Vatican Council II interpreted with Feeneyism

8. Medjugorje says “All religions are equal”
Medjugorje, by all accounts,is in conformity with Vatican II on the issue of ecumenism.- Stephen Ryan
Lionel:
Medugorje does not say all religions are equal said the late Fr. Slavko Barbaric OFM when I asked him this question at Medugorje. He was the Spiritual Director of the seers during the early days of the apparitions.
Medugorje is also not in conformity with Vatican Council II (interpreted with Cushingism) as says Stephen Ryan. Medugorje would be in conformity with Vatican Council II interpreted with Feeneyism. This was when the seer Marija was reportedly told by Our Lady to read The Poem of the Man God by Maria Valtorta, to know more about Our Lady's childhood. The ecclesiology of the The Poem of the Man God is exclusivist. It affirms the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus.
The issue is sensitive and has been filtered through the Franciscan priests overseeing the seers. They cannot directly ask Our Lady about the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus and then make an announcement. Since the Vatican Curia, like traditionalists, interpret the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus, with the irrational theology of Cushingism. This is common throughout the  Catholic Church. So Our Lady is 'in step with the Church' on this issue and does not directly affirm the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus, which even the popes deny with an irrational theology.

TOP TEN SURPRISING THINGS SKEPTICS SAY ABOUT MEDJUGORJE

Father Jacek Miedlar warns crowd: "Be ready to be persecuted"

WARSAW (ChurchMilitant.com) - Footage of a young Polish Catholic priest addressing a crowd of tens of thousands protesting Islam and liberalism is going viral.
The speech occurred at a march in honor of Poland's November 11 National Independence Day, which marks the anniversary of the country's restoration of sovereignty in 1918.
The young priest, Fr. Jacek Miedlar, spoke to a crowd of an estimated 50,000 protesters, defending Poland's autonomy and Catholic heritage against the rising threat of Islam, in response to European Union (EU) demands for the country to "absorb" Muslim refugees currently flooding Germany.
"The leftist and Islamic aggression is turned against Christianity and our nation," the priest said to a crowd filled with Polish flags. "We have the right to be afraid of that. We are entitled to fear for the fall of the Christian heritage of our nation."
"Get ready to be spat at," he warned the crowds. "Be ready to be persecuted."

But he affirmed that the Catholics of Poland will not "fight with the hammer of hatred, which [the liberals] try to press into our hands. We will fight with the sword of truth, the sword of love and the sword of the Gospel Who is Jesus Christ, the Living Lord and Savior."
"We do not want any violence in Poland," he affirmed. "We do not want the aggression in the name of Allah. No rapes! No lynches! No terror!"
This was met with repeated cries from Fr. Miedlar and the audience of "Gospel not Koran!"
Following chanting from the crowd of "God! Honor! Homeland!" Fr. Miedlar instructed the youthful audience that they are "the future of the Church" and the "future of the nation" and urged them to build "Catholic Poland on the foundation of truth and love, Who is no less than Jesus Christ."
Father Miedlar finished with a request to the audience to pray to "Our Lady, to [their] only Queen, St. Mary the Queen of Poland" who would save them "from the Islamic invasion."

Footage of the speech, which was published on YouTube last month, has gone viral, amassing nearly 120,000 views.
The speech was part of what is being described as the "largest demonstration in Polish history," in which citizens took to the streets in protest of the Polish government's acceptance of 6,800 Syrian refugees per an EU refugee resettlement program.
Many protesters burned and stepped on EU flags, with some carrying a banner that read "EU Macht Frei," a reference to the Germann phrase "Arbeit macht frei" ("Work makes you free"), which appeared over the gates of Auschwitz concentration camp.
Other banners read "Stop Islamization" and "Great Catholic Poland," with marchers chanting "Poland for the Polish!"
Another group shouted, "Yesterday it was Moscow, today it's Brussels which takes away our freedom!" referencing the country's history as a Soviet Union satellite state following World War II and the Belgian city often regarded as the de facto capital of the EU.
"I came here because I love Poland and want to show it," stated one protester, who added that his grandfather had fought against the Nazi occupation of Warsaw during World War II.
The protests, which lasted for several days, came two weeks after Law and Justice, the national-conservative party in Poland, became the largest presence in the country's parliament.
Several thousand police officers were dispatched in anticipation of riots, but the demonstration, apart from occasional firecrackers and smoke bombs, was peaceful.
The mass resettlement of Muslim Syrian refugees has been the subject of much controversy for months, with many questioning the insufficient vetting process of refugees and countries are ill equipped to handle the sudden influx.
Lebanese Education Minister Elias Bou Saab made the claim in September that ISIS operatives had infiltrated Syrian refugee camps and were using the crisis to enter Europe undetected. This claim was confirmed by a statement from an Islamic State operative who asserted that 4,000 ISIS jihadis had been successfully smuggled into Western countries.
According to Norway authorities, hundreds of asylum-seekers that recently entered the country had photos on their phones of executions, severed heads, dead children and ISIS flags. Norway police acknowledged that the sudden rush of refugees resulted in less-thorough security vetting.
Father Miedlar's speech occurred two days before the Paris terrorist attacks, in which coordinated mass shootings and suicide bombings perpetrated by seven Muslim terrorists affiliated with the Islamic State resulted in the deaths of 130 people. One of the terrorists had entered the country under the guise of being a Syrian refugee.

SSPX priests are using Cushingism instead of Feeneyism as a theology this is a break with the Syllabus of Errors, traditional ecumenism and the old ecclesiology based on the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus

Lionel:

Mark ,
Would you agree that traditionalists, including Brother Andre Marie are interpreting Vatican Council II with the theology of Cushingism instead of Feeneyism ?
So Vatican Council II would be a break with the old ecumenism? It would be a break with the Syllabus of Errors ?
It would be a break with the Feeneyite interpretation of the dogma?
Of course it would be saying that not all Jews in the present times need to formally convert into the Church?

Personally,I wish the Vatican would allow FSSP & ICKSP a bishop ordained & consecrated in the pre-June 1968 rite of holy orders to ordain their priest's and consecrate a priest from each group in pre-June 1968 rite of holy orders.(as long as said priest is ordained by valid bishop)Bishop Rifan from Brazil would be a perfect bishop to ordain and consecrate valid bishop's.
There are roughly 50 or so bishop's ordained/consecrated before July 1968 still living. Will you all please pray for this to happen?I still don't understand why they have modern bishop's ordaining traditional priest's.

Wait no more, Mr. B. Catechism
#841 which is verbatim from Vat 2 states:

841 The Church's relationship with the Muslims.
"The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind's judge on the last day."

Lionel:
Yes the place of salvation also includes Muslims and Jews and they need to formally enter the Church for salvation, they 'all' need 'faith and baptism' for salvation.

Therefore, all must be converted to Him, made known by the Church's preaching, and all must be incorporated into Him by baptism and into the Church which is His body. For Christ Himself "by stressing in express language the necessity of faith and baptism (cf. Mark 16:16; John 3:5), at the same time confirmed the necessity of the Church, into which men enter by baptism, as by a door. -Ad Gentes 7, Vatican Council II.

So according to Vatican Council II all Muslims need to convert into the Church to avoid the fires of Hell and so do Jews.

Cindy Wooden would not know of any exception to the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus or Vatican Council II

Catholics are 'the new people of God ','the Church is the new people of God', the new Chosen People, the Elect, outside of which there is no salvation -Nostra Aetate 4, Vatican Council II

The Dallas blog does not know there is a choice : pre and post Vatican Council II can be reconciled

The pre and post Vatican Council II approaches to Judaism can be reconciled if the interpretation is done with Feeneyism, instead of common Cushingism. With Feeneyism Vatican Council II says there is no salvation outside the Church, there is no known salvation outside the Church.
With Feeneyism Vatican Council II says there is no known salvation of non Catholics allegedly saved in invincible ignorance(LG 16) or seeds of the Word (AG 11).
So there can be no contradiction in Vatican Council II to the 'rigorist interpretation' of the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus. There is no change in the Church's teachings on other religions and ecumenism. Since there are no exceptions to the old ecclesiology.
The popes since Pius XII have been interpreting the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus, with Cushingism instead of traditional Feeneyism. So for them there are known exceptions to all needing to formally convert into the Church.
After Vatican Council II this was the reasoning used to interpret the Council documents, which can also be interpreted with traditional Feeneyism, for those who discern.
For me there is no change in the pre and post Vatican Council II Church according to Vatican Council II.
The change is there for the contemporary magisterium which uses Cushingism and this is politically acceptable to the Jewish Left, the dominant Jewish ideological group.
So when the writer of the Dallas Blog says there  is no reconciliation, of course he has accepted Cushingism as interpreted by the Magisterium and does not know that there is a choice.

The pre- and post-VII approaches to Judaism cannot be reconciled
by Tantumblogo
Just a bit of evidence from the Haydock Study Bible from the Book of Zacharias, chapter XIII that the post-conciliar modernist/indifferentist reproachement with Jews is impossible to reconcile with the constant belief and practice of the Faith.  There was disturbing news last week when Cardinal Kurt Koch, a severe modernist, announced that the Church was formally rejecting any missionary outreach to Jews, because they still have a valid covenant something something blah blah even though Christ Himself said that without faith in Him as the Messiah of all humanity one could not be saved (yes yes, this is not the post to discuss the finer points of that Doctrine).
Lionel:
This is the Christocentric approach based on the rejection of the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus with the theology of Cushingism. It is magisterial. It was  accepted also by Archbishop Lefebvre, Michael Davis and the traditionalists of their time. There was no one to point out the error. The popes accepted the error, the irrational theology, and so did the traditionalists and liberals.
The prophecies from Zacharias point directly at Jesus Christ, and indicate that false prophets and adherents to false religions shall be destroyed:

And there shall be in all the earth, saith the Lord, two parts in it shall be scattered, and shall perish: but the third part shall be left therein.
And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined: and I will try them as gold is tried. They shall call on my name, and I will hear them. I will say: Thou art my people: and they shall say: The Lord is my God.

What I found even more interesting, however, was the commentary provided by Fr. George Leo Haydock on this important bit of Scripture:

The greatest part of mankind will be lost. (Haydock) --- The few Jews who embrace the faith will be absorbed in the Gentile converts, and suffered to live, though proved by persecutions, while the rest shall be exterminated. Both shall lose their name, and be styled Christians.
Those who adhere to Judaism, or to paganism, cannot be saved. This is the privilege only of Christian Catholics, who live piously, and are selected by God's grace.

Now certainly, this is no dogmatic statement.  It's the opinion of several Catholic Scripture scholars quoted.  But it reveals the enormous dichotomy in practical belief that separates the pre- and post-conciliar Church.

Lionel:
Vatican Council II is dogmatic.

-Ad Gentes 7, Vatican Council II
This Sacred Council wishes to turn its attention firstly to the Catholic faithful. Basing itself upon Sacred Scripture and Tradition, it teaches that the Church, now sojourning on earth as an exile, is necessary for salvation. Christ, present to us in His Body, which is the Church, is the one Mediator and the unique way of salvation. In explicit terms He Himself affirmed the necessity of faith and baptism(124) and thereby affirmed also the necessity of the Church, for through baptism as through a door men enter the Church. -Lumen Gentium 14, Vatican Council II

The Haydock commentary was compiled between roughly 1780 and 1810.  The view presented in this commentary on Zachariais xiii:8 was solid, middle of the road orthodoxy at that time.
Lionel:
Its orthodoxy was expressed in the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus which Vatican Council II supports. Here is the text of the dogma on exclusive salvation in the Church.

  • “There is but one universal Church of the faithful, outside which no one at all is saved.” (Pope Innocent III, Fourth Lateran Council, 1215.)
  • “We declare, say, define, and pronounce that it is absolutely necessary for the salvation of every human creature to be subject to the Roman Pontiff.” (Pope Boniface VIII, the Bull Unam Sanctam, 1302.)
  • “The most Holy Roman Church firmly believes, professes and preaches that none of those existing outside the Catholic Church, not only pagans, but also Jews and heretics and schismatics, can have a share in life eternal; but that they will go into the eternal fire which was prepared for the devil and his angels, unless before death they are joined with Her; and that so important is the unity of this ecclesiastical body that only those remaining within this unity can profit by the sacraments of the Church unto salvation, and they alone can receive an eternal recompense for their fasts, their almsgivings, their other works of Christian piety and the duties of a Christian soldier. No one, let his almsgiving be as great as it may, no one, even if he pour out his blood for the Name of Christ, can be saved, unless he remain within the bosom and the unity of the Catholic Church.” (Pope Eugene IV, the Bull Cantate Domino, 1441.)

And this view continued to be solid, unquestioned orthodoxy until the latter half of the 20th century, specifically, until the "fruit" of Vatican II.
    Lionel:
With the Letter of the Holy Office (1949) to the Archbishop of Boston the Catholic Church officially switched, from Feeneyism to Cushingism.

Now we have heads of major Vatican dicasteries proclaiming that not only can Jews be saved even given their explicit rejection of Jesus Christ (and for many modern day Jews, this rejection is a fundamental part of their identity),
    Lionel:
They have been saying this since 1949 with the new theology, the new ecclesiology based on the Cushing irrational premise and inference.Cushingism says being saved with the baptism of desire and blood, refer to non Catholics in Heaven without the baptism of water in the Catholic Church. They are exceptions to the traditional teaching. So there are some known persons according to Cushingism who do not need to accept Jesus in the Church. This reasoning is accepted by the traditionalists. The Vatican Document on the Jews is a continuation of this reasoning.

but they are in such an assured position for salvation that the Church should absolutely refuse  to permit any efforts to convert Jews to faith in Jesus Christ!
    Lionel:
This statement has its theological base in Cushinigsm. It was accepted publically in 1949, though the seeds of the error were placed in the Baltimore Catechism (1808). The baptism of desire and blood were considered explicit by the Baltimore Catechism and were placed in the section on the necessity of baptism. The Catechism of Pope Pius X picked up the error.
Liberals say that the Council of Trent mentioned 'the desirethereof' in the baptism section. So the confusion comes from there.
The bottom line still is : Lumen Gentium 16 ( saved in invincible ignorance) can be interpreted with Cushingism or Feeneyism and the conclusion will be different. It is the same text of Vatican Council II but with different results. One is non traditional and heretical and the other is traditional and rational. With Cushingism and Feeneyism we have the hermeneutic of rupture or continuity in Vatican Council II. This is the precise cause- the theology.

To justify this belief, these modern-day leaders point to the disastrous declaration Nostra Aetate, and not without some justification, for that declaration does seem to set Jews apart in their own special, continuing covenant with God, no matter how much this declaration is at odds with Scripture and Tradition.
    Lionel:
It is the contemporary magisterium and the Jewish Left's political interpretation of Nostra Aetate. There is nothing in Nostra Aetate to contradict the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus or Ad  Gentes 7 and Lumen Gentium 14.

It's just another small example of the numerous aspects of Vatican II that simply cannot be reconciled with the constant belief and practice of the Faith, even to the level of contradicting solemnly defined Dogma.
    Lionel:
It is another example also of a traditionalist not affirming Ad Gentes 7 and Lumen Gentium 14 in agreement with the strict interpretation of the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus to counter the propaganda of the leftists, in and outside the Church.

Vox Cantoris recently agreed on his blog that AG 7 and LG 14 were traditional on salvation.
I'm sorry, but these two approaches cannot, in any sane sense, be reconciled and explained away.
    Lionel:
Yes we cannot reconcile Vatican Council II interpreted with Cushingism and Vatican Council II interpreted with Feeneyism. The present Cushingite interpretation, that of the new theology, is a break with Tradition, the Syllabus of Errors etc.

There is no way to reconcile "Jews cannot not, in a general, objective sense, be saved" with Cardinal Koch's command forbidding efforts to convert Jews because "Nostra Aetate....professes.....[that] a replacement or supersession theology which sets against one another two separate entities, a Church of the Gentiles and the rejected Synagogue whose place it takes, is deprived of its foundations."
    Lionel:
    Yes this cannot be reconciled.
Since Vatican Council II ( Feeneyite ecclesiology) indicates they needs to convert into the Catholic Church with 'faith and baptism' to avoid the fires of Hell.
They need to accept the Jewish Messiah and live the traditional  teachings of the Catholic Church, the Church which he founded.
Vatican Council II ( Feeneyite version) can be reconciled with the past ecclesiology, with Tradition.

These things simply cannot coexist.  They cannot be reconciled.  This is a radical repudiation of the constant belief and practice of the Church.  It is, an awful novelty
    Lionel:
The novelty is Cushingism. It has to be identified and corrected and then the theological train will be back on the rails.Things will be rational once again.

and an even larger error, and it is grounded in an indifferentism that is concerned far more with not offending Jewish wealth and temporal power than it is seeing souls saved for all eternity.
    Lionel:
However the traditionalists blogs at least could point out the difference between Vatican Council II according to Cushingism and Feeneyism.
Presently the Vatican wants the Society of St. Pius X and the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate priests to accept Vatican Council II with Cushingism. While the magisterium does not affirm Vatican Council II according to Feeneyism.
Why don't the bloggers ask the Vatican also too accept Vatican Council II ?

But it's also part and parcel of the kind of worldly, materialist, indifferentist mentality that has dominated in the Church these past several decades.
    Lionel:
Cushingism is magisterial and no one has complained. It is there in Redemptoris Missio and two theological papers of the International Theological Commission and also forms part of the ecclesiology of the Balamand Declaration. No one noticed it, not even Christopher Ferrara and John Vennari
